Default v5 WRX RA with V5 STi ECU Tuning

Im keeping my options open for my build...but I'd like to have stock JDM STi V5 power! I got an awesome deal on a 99 V5 WRX RA swap (EJ207DW) then I got another awesome deal on a V5 WRX RA wiring harness pre merged to a pre 95 Impreza! they guy said he would throw in a STi V5 ECU for next to nothing so I bought it. My friend gave me a complete V5 STi intake manifold including wiring and injectors! And WRX / STi had the same turbo that year (VF29).

I heard the compression ratio was the same for the WRX vs STi

Is this true?

But the pistons are forged for the STi?

The WRX is missing 2 sensors air and water temp?

So I wanted to run that setup & ECU by changing a few things to my wiring harness:

-Fuel Pump Relay Control, Connector No. B134, Terminals 1 and 21 (swapped wire from one to the other) which swaps with, GND (control systems) Connector No. B136, Terminals 1 and 21 (other swap from above line),(also said there was nothing in that terminal)

also change:

-Crankshaft Position Sensor, Signal (+), Connector No. B136, Terminals 5 and 6 (cut wires and soldered to opposing wires, <cut red and white ones and soldered white to red and red to white>)
which swaps with, Camshaft Position Sensor, Signal (+), Connector No. B136, Terminals 6 and 5

Has anyone done this ?

My other option is buying complete WRX manifold, wiring, ecu, intake, maf, cam gear, cam gear sensor, Top mount intercooler

This option would be tuneable via opensource or map but buying all those parts would be costly then I have to pay for tune

Some professional advice would greatly be appreciated. Can I pull this off and have a reliable STi ?

Thanks for you help! - Lurk
