Aug/Sep doesn't make much sense to me. Australia apparently will start seeing them in November. England can order them in January. So why would they keep producing the old style for several more months? I would think they would just switch the lines over and go for it. Unless you mean they'll build up eight months of backstock? I think we'll start seeing these Spring of 2003.

I just called my local Subaru, Matt Slap Subaru, I asked when they will be getting the STi. He said about a year. That was all he said, nothing too specific, so I dont know how much I trust that. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Zerbe: If Matt is a salesman. He probably knows even less than us... Cause salesmen know nothing but BS...

The last 16 year old customer who didnt buy anything.. but talked to him probably told him this...

It is my understanding that the lines have already started pumping out the new body. The GDA's are all but finished.

i doubt we'll see it that early... they'll be bringing the STi out w/ it as well... I don't know why everyone is thinking the STi will be coming in the old bodystyle. My guesstimate is late summer.

IMHO the '03 Impreza will have a shortened run. But overall the GDA body style will have had a two year run. From Spring of 2001 to Spring of 2003. The new style will then have about a two year run from Spring of 2003 to Spring of 2005, with the introduction of the anticipated redesign for the US 2006 model year. The plant will probably be producing '03s until November, since the retooling won't take long. Then out come the new style bodies.

The 2003 is just the last remaining remnants. They should already be tooling up for the new design if not already producing them. The 2003 will be a short year like my 2001 was. it basically ran for only a few months. Just long enough for the existing stock to make it out of the pipeline. It'll be just the same this time. I'll bet that you'll be able to order a 2004 in feb or march. It wouldn't surprise me if the STi was introduced as a 2004 as well. The real key is when you can no longer ORDER the 2003. That's probably the case now...

I thought GDA was the chasis code. Which means that the new design is still a GDA since the chasis has not changed. Am I right?
