('93-'01) Blinking/Winking marker lights

Well, just got my first problem with my RS. Whenever I start or stop, my marker(?) lights flash or wink on and off. it's not a flicker, they just flash on and off a couple random times. It only seems to happen when the car is stopping or accelerating making me think it's a loose wire. However, they both blink at the same time, making me think that it could be something closer to the power than the light itself. Included is a pic with the lights circled (special thanks to: mastervic27 for posting a good front shot of his car on the members section)

Help! i hate to have to take my car back to the dealer for such a little problem they will probably not even be able to recreate. Besides. I don't want to part company with my car!

<FONT face="Comic Sans MS">When you mean start or stop, do you mean when you come to a stop or when you take the key out of the ignition? I do know that my aftermarket alarm passively arms itself, and gives the warning with parking light flashes...

How do you kno they flicker if your inside the car? Do you have factory keyless entry, aftermarket alarm? Is it when you are on the brakes only? you said it was when you are starting too? hmmm, is the switch on the top of the steering colulm in the fully off postion?

Do the dash lights light up when they flicker??

Well, I meant start and stop as in braking to a light or something simmilar, the car is never shut off, the ignition remains on. I have an alarm that flashes the lights, but that's only when the car is stopped, and the door is opened and closed. I know they're flashing because I thought I saw then flash in the reflestion of a kia sportage in front of me, and checked it when I got home in the reflection of a window. I'm not making this up, I promise! The only time they are on is when my lights are on, so the dash lights are on as well. They don't change intensity or something, and no indicator/warning lights come on either.

UPDATE

Well, After trying myself for a couple hours one saturday, I gave up.

I just got back from the mechanic, and they located the problem: A broken wire.

I was right, it was related to the alarm system. Kinda. The wire they spliced to power the front marker lights and tail lights had broken, and therefor, the car wasn't able to supply power to light them. Only the alarm could, hence the reason they still worked when the alarm was armed/disarmed.

Bleh, it cost me $60 too to get the dang thing fixed. They had to use the computer there to locate the broken wire in the car. So I guess it was worth it.

At least I don't have to heel and toe drive past cops anymore to keep my brake lights on so they don't pull me over
