Well, styling, and for those who want AWD.

No manual no care. Rather go 2-Series M Sport.

The 135is, which would be the most direct competitor also starts at 43K

Um, apples n oranges? Not to mention, when this car is released, there will be no 135i. And the M235i will be significantly more expensive than the 135i was/is.

Then your choices are going to become increasingly more limited. Such is life. After owning around 20 cars with manuals, I no longer care what kind of transmission a car has as long as it works well... not that I don't appreciate your appeal to primal automotive purity.

Maybe the next STI will push all the right buttons...

What does the "s" get you over the regular 135i that's of real value?

Damn they got expensive. $35.5k base in 2008, with another few grand for leather and the sports package.

IF you care for the VAG DSG you get that, which is a nice unit if you like such things, as with it you will get launch control, rev matched throttle downshifts, you get an audi interior which is still worlds above the Bimmers.

So right off hand those are two things, then there is the preference. Some will like the audi more than the Bimmer. So there is that. Then there are probably enough Audi fanbois that will want this car alone to meet demand.

I will look at it, but I have a feeling it will be too small.

I'll look at this car for this reason alone. I really like the S4s, but they have just grown too big and expensive. 300 HP, AWD, good interior, gorgeous exterior, hopefully ~40K

It seems to be around the size of the B5/B6 or even B7 A4's, which I'm okay with. I'm also perfectly fine with the VAG DSG, just wish it were that 7-speed unit from the Audis, but I think that's for longitudinal setups and if I remember correctly the 2015 S3 is transverse.

I saw one on the freeway a few weeks back (distributor license plate), and it was surprisingly smaller in person than I thought it would be. Even the S4 is running out of backseat room for the kid, so I have an order in for an S6...

Yeah was interested in picking up a new Allroad until I found out it was based on the A4 instead of the A6. That backseat is tragic for how long the car is. How in the world does the Prius have cavernous rear leg space compared to an A4? My 2 year old would have her feet on the headrests!

...and pics of that S6 very please. Much thank you! You do them up right, my friend.

The lack of a manual in the awd version of the a3 hatch is the only reason I don't own one.

Offer the manual, and audi will acquire at least one buyer from the Subaru market.

The Audi's were designed for fit petite Europeans and the rest of the world.

They need to make an American version of the Allroad.

The new one is going to be quick according to the leaks and spy photos,

More HP
More Torque
More MPG
Less weight
Less Expensive.

Sounds like one hell of a combination

Agreed. My wife is only 5' tall (so the front seat is fairly far forward), and our 6 year old is cramped in the back seat. So, I don't think the rear is even designed for smaller persons...

Thanks, and I'll definitely post up photos once the S6 arrives (should be August/September).

It's ugly, and named after a sport that I hate. I am petty.
