Out of curiosity, I'd like to see how much oil everyone's car uses between changes.

Please include the following information:
- model year
- mileage on car
- oil change interval
- oil used
- relevant performance modifications
- driving habits/conditions
- obviously the amount consumed over the OCI
- if you've made adjustments to quell consumption by either switching weights or intervals

.5-.75 qts between oil changes

2004 STI
120k (35k ish on rebuild)
Chang oil every 3k -3.5k
Rotella 10-30 synthetic
gt3076r, forged pistons, PCV delete, 11mm oil pump thats all i can think of right now that might effect oil consumption.
I dont beat the living daylights out of my car (most of the time )but im not easy on her either.
When i got the car previous owner had been running mobile... didnt like it, 1.5-2qts every oil change, when i changed it you could tell a huge difference in the way it ran, switched to royal purple, went down to about 1 - 1.25 qts a oil change, drastic diff. went away. Auto parts store was out of royal purple so i tried the rotella. By far my fave, .5-.75 qts between oil changes and i can tell absolutely no difference in the way she runs after an oil change

- 2012 WRX
- 21,600 miles
- 4k
- T6 5W-40, stock filter, sweet sweet Fumoto
- Stage 1 Cobb OTS 93
- 22 mile highway commute, aggressive weekends.
- Barely .25qt low at 3.1k so far.
- Switched from Subaru 5w30 @ 14.5k to MaxLife FS 5w30, went from consuming .5qt(maybe .7) to .25qt. Nice. Swapped to T6 at 18.5k because it's easy to get compared to the Maxlife FS. So far, so good.

*Update: At 34k miles, haven't noticed a change in level since the oil change at 30k.
**Update: At 40kish miles, RT6 used at 35k, no measurable change in oil level, should get it changed soon. Noticed the oil is less black (more like a clear dark, dark brown), so it must have finished removing the ****ty deposits from the first 20k miles? It should have been black by 4k...

I guess you're referring to me. This car only gets at most 2k miles a year so I change it once per year. I don't think once per year is excessive.

IMO, this will be more helpful if people are more specific regarding oil choice. For example, Amsoil has five 5W-30's (only HDD FTW) and two 5W-40's.

Same goes for the brand. For example, "Mobil1" doesn't really narrow it down when there are about 16 Mobil1 choices, not including 20 grades, MC oils, or the racing oils.

Just my 2 cents.

As I said above, can you folks please put the oil grade (viscosity, weight, etc.) you are using?
