Default Need Help Bad!!!!!!

I work at a dealership they are going to play ball with me on this one.
I bought a 08 wrx and I purchased a aftermarket warranty with it.
my turbo just blew- we are trying to get it covered under the warranty.
I have a few modifications on the car. straight pipe turbo back and a tune and a BOV.

Bottom line what can we tell the warranty company that went wrong on the turbo so it is covered? Im guessing the banjo bolt on the oil feed line has a metal filter in it that got clogged starving the turbo of oil! I know these 08 cars have this problem with the filter but do they look at that little filter as a item that needs servicing?

Anything you guys can come up with to help out? I know its messed up to try and warranty this but I spent a lot of money on the warranty...I don't feel bad. DONT TROLL ON HERE PLEASE...I don't need the **** talk.

Im hoping they don't send an adjusted down. we will see I guess, all they can say is no right?

because the car is slightly modified. the turbo definitely **** the bed. but I know how warranty companies don't like to cover anything...especially not on a WRX

Did the warranty company know about the mods when you agreed to the warranty terms? Or did you "forget" to tell them about them?

So why did you bothering paying for an aftermarket warranty in the first place if the car is modded?

Because I bought the car modded. The company did not know but I bought it through my dealership. My dealership will play ball as I said... they know the circumstances. If I didn't work at a dealer I would not have wasted my money

So in a nutshell you want them to pay for a part that you were running out of spec / at higher boost levels with other associated mods that then failed. You want us to help you engineer some graceful way of delivering this so that you get warranty coverage for a non-warranty issue?

I'll get right on it. <heavy eye rolling>

I don't get why you don't just say the car was stock and the turbo blew. Unless they're going to physically come and look at it, who cares how many questions they ask your boss....

Heres the thing I bought the warranty to cover my ass because I had no idea what kind of shape this car was in internally. There was already a tune on it. I had no idea it was tuned or modified at all , I have not touched the car.... I don't want to tell them the wrong thing that is wrong with the turbo because my dealership is not actually tearing it apart and finding the exact cause because we are pretty sure its the banjo bolt problem that thousands of people have had.

Im hoping they don't send someone down to investigate it but Im sure they will, given how many questions they asked about the vehicle! It is not uncommon for them to send someone to keep the dealer honest....as most of you know dealers are dishonest as it is haha

i really dont get it, worst case scenario return it to stock if they want to see it. Otherwise. tell them your going to file a report against them if they dont cover it, you did pay for a warranty didn't you?

So wait, you had a BOV on a subaru, which is never a good idea, and then want them to pay? Come on, its one thing wanting the warranty to pay with proper mods, but have parts that cause damage to the car?

I did pay for the warranty. As soon as we put the claim through we could have someone here to look at it within a few hours. So what im looking for is a common problem with the turbos that is covered under warranty....

I know the banjo boly and its filter have cause many many headaches.
I guess my question is is that miniscule metal mesh filter in the banjo bold an item that needs to be serviced or will it be covered under warranty if that's the cause of the turbo failure

Dude, you said you have a new bov(hopefully recirc) and turboback. that is honestly so easy to return to stock. just return it to stock and say the turbo failed. which it clearly did.

Dont let them **** you over. If when you bought the warranty it had that stuff done to it, tell them you want the money back because they chose to warranty the car anyways, and if they dont want to, you should get your money back and fix it yourself.

the BOV was already on there as well. It is a recirc! the warranty company needs a reason the turbo failed. they don't play games with these cars. I have a stock downpipe I can put on. the only problem with it is that it is clogged... Im sure thas easy to deal with.

ALL IM LOOKING FOR is a warrantee able reason the turbo failed. I just want to cover my ass with it and not **** up my one shot at getting this covered. I wouldn't be posting this if I didn't have to get this done... 4 days after my turbo went My wifes transmission went and I have to pay for that out of pocket on top of that were in the middle of moving and coming up with first last and security hurt us. never mind the down payment I put down...when it rains it pours! I had everything hit me at once. - need a little help to get this done
I don't feel bad about the mods I bought the car that way and I paid a lot of money for the best warranty that will cover all aspects of the car I will not let it go to waste because they don't do refunds...it goes to the finance company I would not see that money

What's wrong with telling the truth? Does the fine print say the car had to be stock?

Yes the car can not be modified to be covered under a warranty unless you get a warranty on a vehicle that is modified from the factory
