Default 2008 Impreza 2.5i CEL due to resonator removal?

This morning my CEL, VDC and a flashing cruise light came on. The only reason I can imagine would be because I removed my intake snorkus/resonator about 1500 miles ago. Im going to get the code scanned at lunch, should I expect to see something about a rich fuel mix or a bad MAF? I would just re-install the resonator but its 200 miles away at my other house. Would It be a bad idea to drive it 200 miles to get the resonator?

Won't be able to help without the code.

^^^ Indeed. Seems a bit of a stretch to think it's related to something you did 1500 miles ago.

The code was a P0442 - evaporative emission system leak detected. I cleared the code and on the drive home I was bogging on starts and had to release the clutch at a higher rpm to get rolling. When coming to a stop the rpms dip to the lowest notch on the tach and almost stall. The vdc light flashed on for a fraction of a second once like it was stalling. Im guessing I'm running rich, which people against the resonator mod said would happen, Ive just never had these issues until now, after I cleared the code.

vacuum leaks, a bad knock sensor, or old plugs will all make it act like this. I like to start with the cheapest thing first. Make sure you didn't unhook anything from the intake when you took off the resonator.

I checked all the vacuum line connections last night and made sure they were snug, didnt find any leaks but i must have eliminated whatever the leak was because the issue seems to be solved. The car drove fine this morning and didnt throw any more codes. Thanks for the help.
