Knock, knock….is this mic on?

Inbound from Alaska, returning home to Gainesville area after being in the north for nearly 20years. Bringing the beast above back home….driving it down for one helluva road trip. Looking for meet ups, boiled peanut stands, good catfish or BBQ joints. Got family in Pensacola area, will be overnighting there before heading down through the country. Settling back in the area…looking for great tuners and shops. I'll be looking to compete in local events and enjoying meets. Hope to meet many of you folks in here. Looking forward to the journey.

FL isn't too bad. Could be Detroit or Flint Mich. lol good to see people posting up here. Also some sad news, the fate of the Blue Bomber is unknown. The last I knew after I ran into the gentleman I sold it to, was that it was involved in a wreck. The guy was sitting at a light by Mayport and got rear-ended pretty hard, possibly totaling the car. Sad stuff. Wasn't hardly a speck of rust on her either. Still haven't heard of her fate yet. He had to deploy a day or two later. How's life everybody? I'm still looking for a vehicle. Basically on to motorcycles now, boy if you thought subies were addicting! I still miss my WRX, but it provided a house for the wife and soon to be 3 kids. We'll hopefully, finally be closing in April in O.P. Well I hope everyone is well, welcome aboard new folks. You won't regret it. These are good people.

Take care all,

Timmy

Every place has man. I tend to be a glass half full kinda guy though.

Try living in a place with no race track, that stays frozen 7 months out of the year, that you have to drive for 4-5 days just to get to another U.S. state. Do that for 20 years. You'll see Florida through a different set of eyes, I guarantee it.

Anyways, I have lots of interests…sport bikes and dirt bikes, hunting, fishing, in addition to my car motorsports addiction….hoping to get the low down on tuner shops from the group…and find some common ground with a new bunch of subie heads.

I've been pretty active in the LARGE community we have in Alaska since the cars were released in the U.S. I'd like that to continue. Just did a bunch of upgrades to the car before my trip. My avatar mentions it for the most part. I have an 05 STI chassis and tranny, Jdm version 8 ej207, running a Dom 1.5 XTR, ceramic coated tomei headers, grimmspeed intercooler, DCCD pro, lots of steering, bracing and other mods.

Hope to see some of the groups car setups, someday.

At first when i read your car description. I was like. V8 Subaru?!?! (Now i am still learning so the windows of possibility still blow strong with me)

But my first thought was. V8 SUBARU HELLZ YEA Winning
I use to go to all the meets in the town center religiously. There were lots of Gear Headz there and honestly. The Subaru Crowd as a WHOLE are just nice people. The ambiance is beautiful. People are friendly. Helpful, I mean i could go on and on.

I have met some great people who are now friends and family through owning a Subaru. Its not like any other scene. Also, Check out North Florida Subaru Group on Facebook and also here.

There are lots of active members and they do meet and greets, Tune sessions and all. Most of the group has a handful of tuners they use that come in town and they make a HUGE weekend out of it. MY car is not ready yet to go to the tuning sessions, (still fixing issues) But once she is ready, i cannot wait to see what kind of numbers she puts down. I am sure they are going to be awesome.

But yea man, check that group out also and the guys here are very helpful also. I just noticed you said you were looking to meet up with groups since you came from a very active kinda scene. So you should fit in perfect with North Florida also. But between there and here, you should be able to cover a lot of ground.

I dont get to meet up much anymore because i just have SO much going on all the time...LIFE.. On top of trying to fix all my subie issues i have. I just need someone who has the time to come by and spend some time with me hearing all my little pet peeves and that will be able to help me get them resolved. In the mean time. I am learning as i go, breaking some things sometimes too .

My car is at home right now in the driveway till this weekend because my dumb A** Broke the tube that goes to the Stock Turbo Inlet . So i had to get a after market silicone one recently. My new Turbo comes friday, so this saturday or sunday will be designated to putting my car back together. Safely mapping/tuning it. And babying it for a while till i get the mileage breakin under my belt for the new turbo and can REALLY TEST IT . Luckily i am blessed with a good friend aka Breezeby, aka Joe! That has been helping me get her up to par. Thanks again Joe. It means more then you know!

And thanks everyone here for all you have done to help me along the way. EXP you Uncle! You have a special place in my heart .

Looking forward to meeting up with ya one day though man

I agree with that. Middle class struggles. You are either on top of the world or below it trying to make it. There aren't much in betweens. I consider my situation in between, but its GOT to be better then this. After traveling the world some. I KNOW its better then this. Gov jack A$$ is on his way out the door though. maybe things are looking up! THANK YOU JESUS! I think everyone in Fl can agree with that one
THere are better places in florida though, Jacksonville is a growing city and thats stressful right there. The city isn't evolved enough yet. There is no fun entertainment besides the usual bars or clubs. (Which i dont attend any more as of many years ago, gets old) Everytime someone comes in town i have to take them to either Orlando, Daytona, or St. Augustine to have a good time. But it will get better in time. We just need these same old bastards that have been making decisons GONE and new Blood with Innovative ideas to take over.

That will probably drop crime, (because there is something to do for middle aged adults and young adults) and so forth. Looking forward to change because I do love my Florida. You cant beat the beaches, Sun, beautiful weather 90% of the time, and being a local just knowing EVERYONE and everything about your city.

Wow, this place has died.
Mae & I are going to the Dragon Boxer-Takeover, leaving Wednesday, coming back Sunday. I hope to have a good time and meet some of my online friends for real.
Scotty, I call this place home. It's not perfect, but no place is. If somewhere else has better wages, costs will reflect that. You give and take if you get my meaning. I grew up here, got here when I was 16. And really can't imagine going somewhere else.

and chuck...things were WAY different THEN

today...florida is a dead pool for young people....i hate to say it but there just isnt much for anybody younger than 'retirement' age...at least north of i4 there isnt

when publix went walmart after mr george slid out of the picture, and publix stopped paying worth a ****.,.and i KNOW this is true.....everybody else followed suite and it is my opinion that THAT is what the real cause of the total slump in the florida economy is and will remain.
in the ****ter.

the bastards got greedy and brought the whole state economy down with them

yay publix

anyway....have fun at the dragon.....im working

Stolen Boat!

I know this isn't the normal topic here, this boat was stolen from Titsuville sometime today between 4-6pm. If anyone sees it please call the Titusville FL police department. It's a 16' Lagoon flats boat, Tohatsu 60hp motor, Minkota trolling motor. Trailer is missing one guide pole on the passenger side.

What's up all. Welcome aboard to the new folk. Well it happened, after losing 5 houses in bidding wars we finally made one happen. Also have our 3rd addition to the family en-route anytime between now and June. All in all things seem to being going ok. Still miss my car but it gave us a home. Seems like everyone is on FB these days.
