Default rally wv july 27-28 Snowshoe, WV Spectate Areas Posted

Rally WV has 50 cars and 20 motorcycles going all out over forest service roads in a stage rally format. Lots of condos at Snowshoe that are cheap if you split with a group, local motels and camping.

You can volunteer or spectate.
http://www.rallywv.com/home.html

The 2013 Edition of Rally West Virginia will be two long days of rally racing covering 167.32 stage miles and 347.47 transit miles over 14 stages. These roads are general fast and flowing roads providing an excellent test for the teams.

As likely the longest stage rally in the America or Canada the committee believes this year’s event will be toughest competitors will have seen for some time.

I'm there.

Also worthing of noting, there is a hillclimb up SnowShoe Mtn Rd that will go on when rallycars aren't racing up it so expect some wild hillclimb cars and one legendary WRC car.

8 ProDrifters have been invited to tandem drift up the mtn to put on a show as well as a video drone to capture the action from the air.

Lots more to do out there; great mtn biking, road cycling, drift triking!, steam train ride for kids in Cass, the BIG telescope tourist attraction, stuff always happeneing and pubs/starbucks at resort at 4000ft is cooler than hot July at home or beach.

I will not be able to make it (family obligations) but what are the chances of possibly having someone who is going snag a set of castoff tires?

On an online organizational meeting last night, they wanted 80 more workers signed up. If you are going to volunteer and haven't signed up yet, now is the time.

Checking the car over this weekend, making sure it's ready to run the roads.

Excited to try out my wheels/winter tires on the dirt. Should be much better than all-seasons.

I have a portable air source if you want to add some to stiffen those soft sidewalls. You driving to the event on those? M&S are not the best for tarmac.

To all- Be aware of blind corners and the logging trucks which appear around them. Those guys are not used to seeing any traffic at all and they haul a$$ down the mountain. We damn near got run off the road during recce last year. Literally inches to spare with fully loaded logging trailer drifting towards us

Pre-emptive thank you for all who are volunteering. Cheers!

Volunteering for rallies! You get to see so much more than the spectators do. Start is my absolute fav, count them down and watch 'em launch....Roostertail of dirt/gravel/rock
