Default Heading to Chicago, things to check out?

What's going on everyone. I'm stopping in Chicago for 5 days to visit a friend on my way to California, looking for some suggestions on what to do. He's right by soldier field. We are definitely going to three Floyds brewery right over the border and getting a steak at Mortons Friday. Trying to find some good bars/restaurants and even some tourist things to check out. We are both in our mid 20s and single so some places with potentially nice looking mid western woman would be appreciated. Thanks for the input.

All depends on what you like. All the tourist stuff is downtown. With that being said, most of the good stuff, bars and restaurants are in the neighborhoods. If you want to venture out of downtown lakeview area would be your best bet for the women folk. just my opinion.

Where does one go for this? I'm not expecting much from the pizza but I have to try it at least. Anyone been to the bar Scout? Seems like a decent spot

The South Loop area (where you say you'll be staying) is getting more hip every day. drvrswntd used to live down there and enjoyed it. More and more young people. UIC not too far. Hit up Chinatown for some good food. Ricobenes on 26th for some breaded steak sandwiches (used to go there all the time while at school at IIT).
Was never a big fan of the Chicago pizza or Al's beef, blah.
Hit up Cafecito in the loop for some amazing cuban sandwiches and coffee instead. It's right next to the hostel so there are young people around.
As for nightlife, cab it to Lincoln Park around DePaul Univ. (lincoln and fullerton) and just bar hop down Lincoln. It's always bumping till 4am on weekends.

Went out by Wrigleyville tonight. Hit up goose island brew pub and some bars around there. Stopped at scout on the walk home. The bartender there was absolutely beautiful and I got a free shot from her for my friend and I. Need to swing back through there

I know I know, but food trucks in the city are almost all mexican joints and they taste pretty damn close to eachother...now there's a Burger truck and a Sandiwch truck that's more like Philly's take on a "Big Cheese" that roams the city....those are awesome.

^THIS...it come's from Cubs fans, south siders have all the fun (if you want to talk about parties, fights, imprints of some girls hand on your face kinda stuff) then the sox is where it's at, Cubbies do have the best pubs in town though.
