Default 2.2 to 2.5rs engine swap

Hi all,

In a 95 Legacy I'm looking to swap out a 2.2L and put in a '98 Impreza 2.5RS. Anyone know if:

1. Will this work fairly easily?
2. What do I have to watch out for?

I've done motor swaps before and I'm going to check with a Subaru dealer, but I just wanted to know if anyone else has done it before me and if there is anything I will need to look out for.

Thanks in advance.

Bill

The ECU may have some incompatibilities. There may be some info in these boards and as you say the dealer can likely tell you.

for you buck you might as well go to a 2.0 wrx engine or any turbo'd scoobster engine... i think its more worth it

Thanks for the replies!

We have the ECU for the 2.5RS but of course we will check with the dealer first.

Turbo is on the way and thoughts of nitrous are floating in my friends head.

Thanks
