Default 08 front struts on 2011 wrx, any issues?

I recently hit a curb and bent my driver side front strut pretty bad and it's got some horrible camber now. A factory oem strut is almost $400 but I'm on a budget. I found a guy that has oem struts/springs/top hats from an 08 wrx with 25k miles on them for cheap and was thinking about swapping the fronts. I know there is a .5" difference in height from the spring perch to the mount and they are considerably softer than the 2011. If I swap my 2011 springs onto the 08 strut will this be ok? I know it's not going to be as close to 2011 factory specs as I wish but how much of a difference will there actually be?

the 08 springs are 151# front 136# rear. the 09+ springs are 217# front 194# rear. so, big difference. the dampers are a lot stiffer in 09-10, and they were stiffened up again slightly starting in '11. i wonder if the 08 struts could properly handle the '11 springs...

i have front struts and rear shocks from a 2012 wrx, with around 1k on them, if you're interested. PM me. i was planning on putting them up for sale here soon, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Besides being different spring rates the rear springs are not mounted the same. I searched high and low for a how-to for an '11 sedan and could not find one with good accurate information. For starers if they tell you to remove the rear seat... that's your clue to move on because its not the same installation.

EDIT: dont forget to check the private classified section, I see OEM struts all the time
