Cool The XV thread: mods/aftermarket/etc...

So there seem to be a growing number of XV owners on here these days.
I thought we could start our own thread. Post any experiences owning an XV. Any mods, add-ons, aftermarket. Anything really.
So far my Premium 5mt is all stock except WeatherTech mats.
Amsoil Gear lube is next. And I just ordered rokblox (sp?) Mud Flaps. I heard less than stellar reports on the Rally Armors for the XV so I went with a less expensive option.
Will post pics.
Oh and I'm really considering de-badge-ing it tomorrow...

I just installed hella supertones on mine last night and went with an upgraded relay. Needless to say, they're really loud!! I plan on getting RA flaps. What seems to be the issue with the flaps?

There's a long write-up on the XVforum about the RA's. They aren't very well put together for the money according to reports .
I think the RB's I ordered look like a good product and were $85.
Bonus is they fit with or without the factory splash guard.
If I can, I'll make some once I get these to sort of copy.
How would $30-$60 flaps with stainless hardware sound?

As long as they're good quality then that is a decent price it seems. Where is the write up about the RAs for the crosstrek?

Nice!
I'm definitely going to be shopping around for some less "loud" wheels. Although these stock hot wheels-inspired alloys have grown on me. I even picked up a spare on the cheap from one that had been wrecked. When I replace these Yoko's, I'll buy five of whatever and have a fullsize real spare waiting in the garage.
I like the blacked out look on yours, though. Next year sometime, maybe I'll pick up some used Sport Impreza 17's in gunmetal. Or some WRX wheels...
Its nice liking my car and enjoying owning it!

RB flaps will be here sometime this week, pics and review to come.
Just finished filling her up with Amsoil. OE 0w20 in the engine, Severe Gear 75w90 in the transaxle and diff.
I think some flaps/guards, all-weather mats, and the rear seat back rubber ought to be standard on these.

I agree with the rubber mats front and cargo. They are fantastic for my use, and I didn't realize I had them till I got home and looked in back. I has sport carpet mats in front. But I never drove the car, only looked in it real quick before I bought it.

( Old school) I love the look of your XV above, great color, like the wheels. I'd like that with a rack, fairing, and led light bar on top.

Here is mine all stock.
I love the DGM but kinda miss the ISM sometimes. It stayed cleaner looking longer maybe. I really like the khaki but couldnt resist the almost bassboat like shimmer of DGM.

That's Cool! I wanted DGM but had to get SWP on the sport. I thought the XV was awkward at first, and never considered one. I must say, I'm a little regretful I didn't do my due diligence first. I'd like to have a DGM XV tinted out debadged with blk wheels, Thule setup with the LED light bar on top. I'd like to see a Rex version of the XV!!! That would be tight

I like the stock wheels, but wanted something that would stand out from the crowd. The new jeep wheels look just like them. Everybody says it looks like a CIA pursuit vehicle or something. I want darker tint.

Thats awesome looking. Looks great with the Tangerine!
With all the cladding, lift, etc, im surprised the grilles are chrome.
De-badging today, plasti-dip on the grille is now on the to-do list.

Looks AWESOME!
Seems we already have a DGM majority!
Its weird, when I ordered the crosstrek, I thought DGM would be nice, but in person its much darker looking. Almost black. With a nice glittery sparkle that kinda looks blueish. If Subaru weren't so "pc/image consious" they would probably call it gunmetal.

I snapped this pic before I sat on a stool and carefully debadged it.
If you count the pzev sticker and the dealer decal, that 6, SIX badges/adornments. Geez, think they wanted every car to be a rolling billboard. If you count the dealer plate frame, 7 logos across the rear of the car.
I almost didnt take off the awd logo, was going to take off everything else, even "symetrical" but in the end, I decided clean was best. It looks great! Pics tomorrow, I ran out of time and daylight getting the last of the goo off and the wax on.

.ow Its so much cleaner looking, but the chrome on the front is now drawing my attention. I plan to plastidip the grille, or maybe buy the mesh sport grille.
I have never owned a blacked out car like this before. Mostly reds and whites.
I get a knight rider vibe from this car.

The RB flaps came in today. If these look and fit as good as I think they will, then I'm going to be very happy.
Now to unbox and inspect them. And if it quits raining maybe install them.

NICE!!!

Question- how do I remove the plastic button rivet type fasteners that hold the wheelwell to the fender? They have a phillps head and turn easily eaither way. And I cant seem to pull them out. Do I need to just pull harder??
