Default They said it couldn't be fixed!

Here are some before and after pics of my sister's 99 2.5rs. She was the original owner and long story short sold it to our stepsister who shortly thereafter hit a box truck head on at 40mph. My sister bought it back and set out to fix it.

Before...eeks!!

Loading up for trip from Nj to Fl

Donor clip

Almost there

And ta-da!

Currently she has the 99, an 05 Sti and 11
Sti

Thanks, I believe it cost my sister around $6000 to accomplish the rebuild but it wasn't about the money, more a sentimental thing.

We had both purchased our rs's new in 1999, mine is the black one in the last pic which I sold to my buddy in Florida and is currently around 280k miles and still going!

That second picture made me smile. Sis standing there like the concerned mommy she is while her baby is loaded onto the trailer. Good to see her get her hands dirty with it too. Nice work!

It can be, if done right.

I've seen it done where its stronger than OEM.

I've also seen it done so poorly, that they are ticking time bombs.

Any way, great to see a cool car saved from the scrap heap.

Good luck

So, just saying (hoping it never happens) she gets in a wreck in that car, would insurance cover something like that knowing that it was totaled before?

That is the key. I had a family friend that owned a body shop and I was always amazed at how they fixed some cars.
