We were only able to stop by for a few hours on Saturday. Great show, but damn the mudpit was brutal.

Here is some random video I took. Props on going balls out on this run. Anyone hear why it wouldn't start up after he got stuck?

I talked to the passenger (the guy with the blue hair) last night and he said the car overheated so they shut it down and then apparently leaving the headlights on with a weak battery prevented a restart. I thought for sure it was catastrophic watching it, but it sounds as if it's probably okay, it definitely fired up with a jump but I wasn't close enough to see/hear/smell anything. Edit... after rewatching the video, it does appear he lost power before killing it.
Curious to see if the owner will chime in and tell if he made it home. lol

The mud pit wasn't **** during the a.m. but afternoon session was ruff. Everyone kept hitting the same line so it made it horrible and the exit was the worst part. They should a started the afternoon sessikn from the other side.

If anyone has pics or video of my unicorn out there please post em. Slim chances since I only went once.

I didn't take many pictures (too busy socializing), but here's a link to my album. If there's any issues seeing them, let me know. https://www.facebook.com/stegmanc/me...9207622&type=3

I had a great time, great group of people, except for the idiots revving all night long on saturday. Only thing I'd suggest is maybe doing raffles throughout the day. Raffles and trophies took almost 2 hours and was super long and drawn out. I know I had a hard time focusing as did many others. Overall, I'd say another success!

+1 to Saturday evening being crazy. We were going to stay but got a refund instead once we saw the group of people next to us standing on top of their car and swearing up a storm. What's funny is people's lack of enthusiasm when they actually won something from the raffle

yeah... we were the group of people asking for enthusiasm I enjoyed saturday evening, but there surely were some people who partied hard. We were in an area where it wasn't bad at all and people were pretty respectable, but when I did a bathroom walk at 3am people were still going at it. At least they were having a good time.

+1 on winning raffles... lol

At the very least maybe call out that you won so Dan knows you're coming to get your prize instead of going to draw another number

You are more than welcome to help with the mudpit if it was not up to your standards.
Next year we might just not let any stock/lowered cars in there....

That should solve all of our problems.
cheers

I was on stock suspension minus saggy butt spacers and didn't get stuck! I had good winter tires on so that helped a lot. The problem was the lowered cars or the ones running bald street tires

Even though this was my first year attending, i have seen pics and vids from the mud pits of years past and this was by far the deepest and most brutal. Lol. The morning was wet and seemed easier for the drivers to plow through, but for the afternoon, different story... Sun was drying it out and made it thick and nasty. Not anyones fault from the staff, just bad luck from mother nature and the bad judgement of a select few drivers.

Golfclap... I was a little nervous when I watched the Brat on ATV tires and a frankenmotor start to sink during the trial run on Friday night. Everyone with luggy tires did a good job of tilling a little dry soil up so there ended up with a passable section, which was good. The delay for stock height/lowered cars on summer tires to get towed out is always a downer, more so this year since we had some real tacky stuff in the corners. The recovery crew did a good job, props for making everyone get out and hook themselves up and encouraging proper cleanup before trashing the town's streets.

I know it sucks for the people who were waiting to go in to the mudpit, but for myself in the audience, watching people get stuck was easily as entertaining as watching people kick ass :P

Good show as always! Thanks to the volunteer staff and event organizers!

The mud-pit was the best one that I've seen in the last few years. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the Pinzgauer recover cars.

tons of kids and dogs. my 3 year old had a blast. "the mud pit was awesome daddy!" she got to play with lots of kids, especially steve @ PIA's grandkids. she had to pet every dog she saw. so many people got stuck in the mud pit this year, last year i could do like 5 or 6 consecutive donuts, this year the mud was waaaaaay too thick. i thought i was gonna get stuck on the very first run. hopefully i can figure out how to disable stability control, traction control turns off with a button, but stability control doesn't like me going sideways and kicks in after a while and kills my power. i should be much more entertaining if it wasn't for that. i needed a brand new wheel and had to pop out the rear bumper skin but at least my tire was fine. can't believe she slept through the crowd screaming and me hitting the fence. id like to know about other people's issues. i know someone destroyed their front diff, lots of slammed imprezas getting stuck. it smelled like clutch so bad in the morning i had to take a break.

Ill send you a PM. Not sure if your outback will be the same but I know there is a way on the 12+ Impreza and crosstrek (traction control). I made a video on how to do it.

Love your car BTW.

+1 I liked watching people get stuck and unstuck as well. That moment where they look like they're getting stuck but still wiggle out, I thought it was great. The crowd was awesome and really got into it.

The lot was empty because people were refusing to bring their cars in from the camping field. The lots were arranged based on registeration numbers, and the organizers spent most of the morning trying to get the imprezas to come park.
