Thankfully I was wearing a helmet...If I wasn't, I don't know if I'd be sitting here typing. My helmet shows that it took the impact pretty well however my tailbone is still in no condition to ride. Hopefully will be back on the snow stick next weekend.

Have fun to whoever will be up enjoying the pow this weekend...
Really glad to hear you where wearing a helmet! I had a buddy fall of pro shoots last year (very advanced skier) skis popped off and did something similar to what your describing. He broke his C4,5,&6 had to have emergency surgery to secure the 5&6. Needless to say, helmet saved him too.

Pics of the board- is this a common break for riding? I've had two of these in the 5 boards I have ever owned. One was a K2 zeppelin 163 traditional camby, this one a 159W EC2 hybrid camber. Seems I snap all my stiffies ;-)

The most common I have seen. Happened to me as well on an old Santa Cruz at Alpental.

Warranty?

Best day of the season yesterday at Bachelor. Unexpected bluebird + freshies + cold + summit open. I needed that so bad. Starting to feel alive again.

Oh man, so good to be on the soft stuff again. Got a couple hours in yesterday and gonna head on up to Snoqualmie again today (and tomorrow and Sunday ). Gotta get even on that season pass.

Also glad to hear you had a helmet on on NWRider. I forgot mine one day last year and I felt super exposed. I always try to ride with mine.

Thanks everyone! In regards to the break on your snowboard, that is a pretty common break. I've found even more so with the Lib Techs for whatever reason. My cousin and a friend of mine broke theirs exactly the same way.

That said, I broke a Burton Road Soda a couple years back on the nose similarly to yours but that was a really flexy and playful board.

I don't think it is warranty-able. As the deck is now three years old, and lib is only 1 yr from manufacturing date. Probably last lib I buy or hold onto after warranty is up.... Lol I rode it maybe 4 times

Conditions have been awesome at Bachelor. Blower pow is the phrase of the day. They are hoping to open Summit today but I hope it doesn't happen until tomorrow so I can get in on it.

Amazing bluebird powder day. I'm rocked from it. Amazing how pow hungry people are, the mountain was so tracked out by the time I left, top to bottom, on a Wednesday.

It's still 6* and sunny up there. Forecast is really coming around too.

Yep, that's a classic reference. Bachy is not known for steeps. It does have amazing natural terrain, wind lips, cornice's, glades etc... and the best snow on the West coast.

Dumping at my house. Another 6" overnight at the mountain and it's a blizzard up there. Going to be an epic storm day. The crew is all ready to go.

Super deep, decent visibility, light wind, snowing hard with temps in the low 20's. Perfect storm day.

20-30" expected by morning. Hello season.

mattGT, I don't know who you are, but I hate you!
(Which is to say that every time I read this thread during the winter, I am supremely jealous of your powder exploits, as they seem to be many and often midweek.)
Sincerely,
Sad M-F, 9-to-5er in [stupid] sunny Seattle

Yeah man. It's a perk of being a Realtor and having that kind of schedule. I do work a lot of weekends though.

14" more overnight! And I have around 14" on the ground at my house! Holy crap I have been shoveling A LOT of snow and there will be a ton more to do when I get home from shredding. Going up early to get the goods then I will GTFO when it gets too busy.

Anyone getting up to Stevens for Thursday?!?! It'll be a nice day for sure, unless Larry Schick screws up yet another long range forecast...
Looking like a good foot of new.
*Fingers firmly crossed*
