Mine came with it preinstalled. Needs fine tuning but won't save any new configurations for better shifting or clutch control.

I've attempted teaching my girlfriend...she's done it but doesn't like it. I also have taught three guys that I know who I'm building a lemons car with...they had never driven manuals before so that was fun.

Best way I found was to start out on a loose surface (I used a dirt road) which seemed to help a bit. I also just had them start moving the car with just the clutch (no gas) a few times before trying to get moving and shifting etc...that helped a lot too.

I just don't get why some people can't get the whole thing down, I guess I had just as hard of a time too...just seems second nature now

My mom taught me how to drive a manual.

My dads last 3 vehicles have been Tundras (all automatics). So my mom taught me in her Impreza as soon as I started driving.

Theres two thing you don't teach your girl: golf and driving. I personally don't like to teach ANYONE how to drive auto/manual even on their car. I get too stressed...

I've anyways taught people by having them slowly engage the clutch until the car moves and then applying the gas. Works like a charm.

That video is legit... your STI must look like 'the boogie man's cave' of vehicles for first time manual drivers lol

I would love to teach my girl how to drive manual. NVM the STI, Although I would love to see her rip though some gears, or at least set some times at the local autox's.

Mine did fine after I stopped choking her and hitting her with my paddle.
