Question UTEC Owners: Kickplate Bracket Mounting Question

UTEC is installed and working. (I am still waiting for my VF34, so no tuning for now --just logging.)

However, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to mount the J-shaped kickplate bracket that is supposed to relocate the upper kickplate mount using the hardware supplied.

"J" Bracket:

----( )---- <--Threaded
|
|
|-----------------------( )----- <--Hole

Flat Piece:

----()()----------------( )----- <--Holes

I can see how perhaps the open hole end of the J bracket could go over the existing mounting stud to relocate the threaded hole in the bracket near the upper kickplate mount hole... but then I would need another mounting screw (like the other 3 kickplate mount screws)... which I don't have.

And that still leaves the question of "what is the flat bracket for?"

Can anyone help me out? Am I missing a screw/hardware bit or am I missing something that should be obvious about this mount?

Thanks,

-Paul

To answer my own post:

Talked to Nathan today. Yes, the J-bracket is used to relocate the upper mount point. Yes, you need another hex screw that wasn't in my kit.

You could probably leave the last screw out with no ill effects (three other standoff mounts being sufficient)... I just didn't want one of my friends to kick the crap out of the top and end up hitting the UTEC.

The flat bracket is still a mystery.

The flat bracket is used to mount the ABC in the engine bay.
