Hardly. The TC'd Cobalt SS' respond pretty damn good to mods to say the very least.

Did you put your brain as a down-payment?
Because you must have been smoking some strong stuff to choose a Cobalt over a Wrx

Nice ride! I does suck how they depreciate and the interior looks bad to me but the motor is hand built with forged internal and GM sells staged kits for it that don't void the warranty. Plus it handles pretty well also.

That's GM for you.

As much hate as these cars get they're actually pretty fun. The styling might seem a bit boring coming from a car with bright blue paint and a giant wing.
I've watched the SS/TC's put up some pretty respectable numbers.

I have to be nice and give congrats on the new car. Now I must say this:

FWD > AWD ??????????????????

I mean yeah, the Cobalts can be modded very easily but its FWD! If you make so much HP and then take a turn and try and it the gas = Diarrhea!!

Good luck with that one. You're FAR more likely to blow an engine on your F/I Subaru over any Cobalt SS S/C or T/C.

Anyways, congrats. These cars are a lot of fun and are very quick... you can beat on them like it's your day job and they will take it (engine and tranny). Enjoy!

OMG WHY?!! My wife had one, 14,000 miles it BLEW the heck up! Just driving around. And we always changed the oil every 4,000 miles with MB1 like it recommended. (Actually think that may have had something to do with it..... gurrr MB1)

But anyway, it was JUNK..... At the drag strip she saw my time come up on the board before she even crossed be beam. Than we switched to see if it was just a driver thing..... yeah not really. They look nice, she loved that, but we can't get over how shottly made it was.

Times in shop:
1 Week after we got it: Fog Lights don't work (factory did not plug in)
4 Weeks: Wipers won't work right: Had to replace switch
7 Weeks: Wipers still don't work right: Had to replace module
15 Weeks: Headlights are not staying lit when dash lights say they are in Auto mode (could not figure out)
16 Weeks: Same problem as above, still can't figure out
17 Weeks: Take to a different dealer for above problem, replace something and reprogram something, all fixed.
17 Weeks: Took in for what felt like a slipping clutch (turns out they forgot a bolt or something on the flywheel replaced clutch, flywheel, etc)
9 months in: Wife drives into work, goes over large bump, car shuts off..... dead. Sits for a few min, than will restart ok. (sounds like bad crank sensor)
10 months in: Take the car on a long trip, I was with her, car did the same thing as above. ON the INTERSTATE!!!! BAD~!
- Same trip, car starts to make crazy sounds, clatter and bang. Limp car home to my garage.
-Take car to dealership, said this car is junk, lemon it out. Turns out the Timing CHAIN snapped at 14K miles. umm yeah, how does one snap a timing Chain!

BTW the car made it to the track only once, and other than that she drove like 50miles each way to work with it. So put on almost 100 miles a day. All Highway driving and such. So the car was not really beat on at all. And it did not see the track until it had like 9k miles on it.

Congrats dude! It looks really clean. Funny, I've know people that had plenty trans, paint, engine, gas smells and other issues with their WRXs. Keep it maintained and I'm sure your car will be fine.

I used to own a supercharged one. The turbo ones are a great improvement over them. These cars will make over 300 whp on stock turbo with simple bolt ons and a tune. They handle great as well. Nice pick up.

Looks nice, although im not too fond of SS cobalts. Basically like a supercharged SRT-4, but better looks.
