Default Help me identify this sound!

Hi guys,

It has been about a few days since I installed Stage 0. Today, I noticed a "pssshhhh" sound when boosting in 1st and 2nd gears. I do not get the sound in the other gears. The sound is not high pitched like how people describe uppipe leaks. It literally sound like "psssshhhhh." The weird thing is that the sound goes away after driving around. Any ideas?

What's in that kit?

Are you getting full boost? Sounds like a leak to me. But i really can't hear the sound you are saying.

most likely a leak. probably in ur exhuast...cuz if it goes away while driving...the pipes are expanding and stoping the leak.

odd how it only happens in 1 and 2.

The sound is coming from the engine bay. And, I definitely get full boost even with the sound. I'm confused.

Check the intake tube for leaks. A guy I know had a loose clamp and it made a sound like what you're describing.

I hear the sound when I'm boosting...not necessarily WOT. I realized that it's not just for gears 1 and 2. I just couldn't hear it because of all the road noise by the time I reach third gear. Well, I'm still confused. So far, people have suggested that I check the downpipe connection to the turbo or the pulleys. I guess the pulleys can make those noises? Anyway, any other thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
