Question How many of you here routinely floor the accelerator pedal?

And, conversely, how many of you never floor it?

I'd say at least once a day - gets rid of the hesitation problem that seems to effect most of our cars at part-throttle.

An old classmate said he could count the times on his hand the number times he's floored his Eclipse Spyder. That was a year's worth of driving.

I said I'd nailed my A4 5 times before I even get it out of the garage!

Most days are slow days. When the car is low on gas, the pedal gets pushed down further than usual. Hence the reason why I get 360 miles per tank.

All the time. But I don't usually let it go past 3000 rpm. It makes for some constant gear changing though.

I can't imagine going a whole day without feeling the floor beneath my foot. Seriously, I floor it at almost every stoplight or stopsign, and always when entering a highway. Why not?

I actually tried driving conservativel back when gas here was $2.00 per gallon, and I could only manage about 26 mpg vs. 23 mpg when I drive however I like. I decided it wasn't worth it.

Skylab must have a 50 gallon gas tank!!

I floor mine too. But sometimes I feel bad for the transmission. <sigh> And I shift at redline. I feel this "thud" whenever I do that.
