Whenever I wave/deuce in my BRZ I get either a confused look or I get one of those tough guy "hard" looks

For me i usually only give the dueces to a subie thats somewhat modified no matter what kind it is cuz really no stock subies that ive dueced do it back. If they modified it in someway 8 times out of 10 ill get a good response.

More people will buy a BRZ for looks not really knowing the much about Subarus or being a Subaru fan. People that tend to own a WRX, STi are more likely to be a Subaru enthusiast.

Well back to the subject at hand. I used to get deuces, whats up looks, and other things but now with the brz i get nothing and when i throw up the deuces i get weird looks. sure the car is not awd or turbo but its still a Subaru and has a boxer motor. I figure i would ask you guys to see what you say.
I'll trade you my modded STi for your BRZ, then you will get deuced all the time

I ask that you pay yours off first though, lol..

Its a sign or respect for people to wave?

If you bought a car and need other peoples approval, you should have bought something less gay

Newbie checking in - I'm still new to the whole waving to fellow drivers realm. (I come from the Mustang realm, where waving is viewed as a open invitation to getting glared at, invoking the other driver to race you/cut you off/rev at you... all while trying to flex your driving arm muscles with your backward bro cap) the gatherings tend to be more friendly but if you cross paths on the road, watch out! Lol. It seemed like everybody wanted to prove something to the other driver, it was really interesting.

From my experience so far, I've only had a few occasions when someone actually waved at me. I find myself waving back like a muppet through my excitement only to be judged by my fiance in the passenger side or driver next to me.

Older wrxs tend to be more enthusiastic. My experiences with FR-S' and BRZs tend to be no wave or in one case it was a signal for it to floor it, cut off traffic to the exit. I'm not hating on them, love the cars, I agree with it's probably drivers who bought the car for looks/hype but not an actual "enthusiast" in the community. My friend has a FRS, and the guy sits on a pedestal even poking at my GR WRX. But the guy was always kind of an arse to begin with. LOL!

My theory is, we live in an area (seattle folks) where something called the Seattle Freeze exists. And it may or may not explain why people don't openly acknowledge eachother. We'd rather just turn our blinders on and go to point a to point b.

If I don't wave at you, it's not because I don't respect you, I'm the new guy getting the hang of an actual car community and or I'm on some kind of mission/trying to get out of traffic/tired from work.

I think it's the "I got v tack yo" kids being able to afford a subie coming into and not knowing anything about it.
