Default More hp not noise

What, if anything can I do to add power without making my stock 13 sti any louder. Does a access port help on a stock car. Does acold air intake add outside noise. I know when you floor it you will hear it more but I'm just looking for no more idle and normal driving noise

you could do a stage 2 with stock cat back and stock air cleaner...
might be a tad louder but not much.

Barely. Not sure db level difference between catted vs catless dp maybe 1 or 2 dBs. I gutted my Sti CBE to get a little more bark from the thing and I'm running a catless dp. I drive 55 miles each way to work, want to be incognito and not have a headache when I get there.

AP + protune.

I recommend some upgraded bushing, maybe some lockdown bolts. The bushings and bolts can add some noise, but it was negligible to me and well worth how the car put power down to the wheels. They are very easy to install and remove and sell here if you dislike them. Only other option I know of is light weight parts, like driveshaft and pully. Again these don't add power but reduce losses.

I'll go with deeper, not louder. Get one with a high flow cat. Dp is biggest single hp mod for our cars.

I personally don't see any point in paying $500+ for an AP then shelling out $200+ for a pro tune on the damn thing. You can buy a tactrix or vagcom if you want to dick with the cable and get a pro etune for under $250 or dyno time for $300+

You are correct, AP is expensive. But I recommend it because it Is significantly more user friendly than open-source.

It's only crazy expensive if you buy it new. I have bought 4 of them for under $350 each. Some people also benefit from it because you don't need to have a laptop in the car for datalogging.

For someone who won't be putting tons of time into learning to tune, the AP is a great purchase. Especially if its used.

No need for an up pipe on our cars unless you want an external wastegate. They are already catless.

No intake, as to avoid boost creep. DP + Tuning. Skip an AP pick up a tactrix and look into good tuning. E tuning can be had and get the same results as pro tuning just takes a little longer!

Drop your notation of stages, it's a marketing thing. You can do anything you want as long as you're tuned for it. Not sure what you mean air box? You can't change just the air box out, nor would I know why you want to?

It's just a number. Do you want that on a dynojet or mustang?

Either way you should be close if not there with a downpipe, fuel pump and pro tune. A 3 port would help using that torque in lower gears. Pretty much all the stocker is capable of is 300 or a little over.

Downpipe and very good tune will get you close enough that makes no matter. Shooting for hp numbers is for the uninformed. Find a goal that isn't just a piece of paper.

Modify until you are satisfied with the performance. Then drive it 'til you aren't. Then repeat.
