Sounds kind like what happened to my forester
(twice)
Supposedly bad fuel injector #3
Was running on 3 cylinders ... barely

And the CEL never came on both times.
It lights up for loose gas caps but not
for this!

Based on experience with other cars, my first guess would be a bad/clogged fuel injector or an alternator/wiring problem. Of course, take that with a grain of salt, as I'm a bit new to subies.

Wink

Sounds like the symptoms of a bad ignition coil! I've had the same problem and so has SUV-ETR, all similar symptoms. After you get the problem fixed change to new spark plugs and possibly new wires! Could also be the O2 Sensor, the first sign would be if your fuel mileage has dropped recently.

I though hard and figured it wasn't getting spark... i knew that one of my wires was in rough shape, so i bought ngk blues and it cured my problem...i also assumed bad gas, or water, so i put some water remover and fresh gas before i did the wires....
but thanks anyway guys

Have you changed the plugs yet? If not you'll be amazed at the difference in performance! You'll also be amazed at the level of carbon & other crap on the plugs!
