Default Windows 8 64bit RomRaider logger issues

Laptop Alienware m14x r2 Windows 8 64bit

Well I have installed all the programs, downloaded everything.

Here is were im failing.

When I start romraider it says 32bit not found some features may not work.
Okay, then I try to get logger to run so that I can install the Logger files.

When I get to the logger it says

Incompatible JRE detected.
Romraider ECU Logger requires a 32 bit JRE
Logger will now exit.

The steps I have taken to try and fix this.
I have uninstalled all Java.

Then I would install 32bit java only but when I do that and I try to run RomRaider it self it says can not locate (javaw)

I dont know why it does that, I then install the 64bit and the program runs but again the logger will have the same Issue! I have tried having just 32bit, just 64 bit, and both at the same time and nothing.

Anybody have anytips...
Really need to get this sorted out asap!

Posted this on RomRaiders forum also.
I think I have a Windows 7 CD laying around but I really dont want to go the route, since it takes up quite of bit of room.

I had this problem on 64bit winblows 8 as well, There are a few threads on romraider that had the fix in it. I ca't recall what it was off the top of my head but I have it running on my machine with no issues now.

Figured it out, I unstalled 64bit java and left the 32bit java, I then proceeded to install using the romraider exe install file, I was able to get past the selection screen where it ask what files to install this way.

Before with 64 bit it wouldnt go farther then that. (Because of that I tried installing using zip file method instead and thats why it was failing the way it was)

When I ran the install process with 64 bit it installs it into the 64 bit program folder, if you unstall the 64 bit java and leave 32 bit java it will install into the 32 bit program folder instead.

Everything is working perfect now.

Also noting that if i reinstall 64bit logger messes up. But if i uninstall i have no issues.

As a precaution i have java 64 bit installer ready for anytime that i need it. Only takes 30 sec to install and uninstall so no harm. Easy fix
