Was hoping for more torque, but overall happy with the numbers. Completely different powerband compared to stg 2, so it'll take some getting used too.

any ideas on needed improvements would be appreciated.

Looks like a healthy street powerband actually. but being that you are running a 56lb/min snail, i would think you should have more top end. even with the stock top mount IC, id strongly guess the stock headers are def chocking off where the turbo would shine. theres no way to pump more air n fuel in there is still reminents wasted exhaust thrying to squeeze out the exhaust path. headers would open up where that turbo shinnes in higher rpm. even with a bigger up pipe and EWG exhaust is still getting chocked before that point in the stock header. you can port n polish the stock header, but wont match a true header. jusy my my .02 cents ;-)

ps my guess is with your settup youd gain everywhere in powerband. maybe same at sub 4500 be about same. but just gain wayyy more torque 5k -redline. and thays how to increase power with that bigger turbo. increase the torque at higher rpm in other words increase Volumetric Efficiency at higher rpms. even 10-20 ft lb increase at 6k + will render like 25-50 hp. ive been looking adamently into headers for the last few months as i plan on maxing out the stock turo on my car. (vf52 ) ... i saw a post somewhere where a guw with an 08 sti stock turbo went with a equal lenght cheap ebay header. n gained like 20tq-30whp. but then had it crack. n so he didnt wana deal with ceacking header, so he opted for grimmspeed pnp stock headers n lost power. no more cracks but lower top end. this is all imperical as headers have been proven on N/A applications time amd te again.

For your set-up this seems like a good result, nice consistent power band. I would actually be EXTREEMLY happy with the top end power on stock heads not to mention that fuel pump and injector size. Almost all the graphs you will see on stock heads look like a hill at 5500-6k or so.

As far as future upgrades I would like a E/L header on it, better intercooler, bigger pump and injectors but building the motor would be my next step if you plan to push over 400whp.

Like I said for a stock block/green build this looks to be a great car, unless it was built with a larger fuel system I wouldn't be expecting or wanting anything more than that.

What is your "end goal" on this?

Scuby, you're right on building the block. It'll be my next large investment.

Headers are on my next to do list, even Dan and Matt at Mach V recommended it.

Would love to increase torque which will be my next small goal.

My end goal is a more efficient and proper supporting mods, hopefully to decrease spool time with the hta, built block (at least pistons/rings), pushing no more than 400whp/wtq.

My initial goal was met, was aiming for 350/350.

Personally I would go ahead do all the small stuff... TGVDs, better intake, header(EL or UEL), wrap all the exhaust in the engine bay including the turbo and DP, better IC(TMIC or FMIC). You would be surprised how much you could gain from just small things that are fairly cheap....

I did a similar build. My thread is here if you want to go through it. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2421905

I actually used your thread a lot for my build/mod plan haha.

How's your car treating you? Same power levels? Still stock block?

Edit: saw you also had lower rpm for peak torque. Now I need to see how I can obtain that, then this will an awesome daily haha

The stock block is running well, still. My current plan is a built motor, but I'm not sure exactly when.

I'm still at the same power levels, for now at least XD. These turbos are a lot of fun. Good choice.

Your mod list is almost identical to mine!

I got retuned last week and made 374whp/355wtq last week.

Equal length header is the way to go along with a bigger top mount or Fmic!

Definitely a fun daily set up you have!

I don't remember. Ill post up my dyno graph when I get a copy of it.

I'm gonna guess around 4k-4500 territory.
