Default Ej255 w/ 2.0 Wiring harness Questions

I recently Picked up an 03 wrx w/ a 2006 ej255 motor from a forester in it. The motor is completly stock other then a bigger blow off valve and exhaust. (has the ej255 heads on it). The motor also has the cosworth cam positioning sensor. The car is running off of the factory 2.0 wiring harness and ecu of the original 2.0 motor.
Right now the car starts up and idles perfectly, however from about 2k-4k it spuders and runs poorly. From 4k + it runs great.

Ive done hours and hours of research but cannot find a deffenate answer anywhere, Can i have a custom/open tune done with this setup??
or will i need to look into getting a forester ECU and wiring harness. Keep in mind I dont mind not having ACVS.

If i can have it tuned with the current setup, (i.e. not doing new ecu/harness) where can i have a tune done locally?
Im located in San Diego, California.

I too have this sputtering an lack of power between 3100 and 3800 rpm with my04 Wrx with my 05 sti longblock running the 16bit ej20 ECU. What's up with this? I'd love a fix.

I fixxed my issue. it ended up being the notorious cosworth cam sensor relocation bracket. i was pulling a p0340 code. (cam sensor). i put two washers between braket and sensor.. runs 100x better. i still need a tune due to it running to rich, but no longer pulling the p0340 code and running pretty good.
