Question want to lower my car, I live in San Jose,CA

I want to lower my car but have no idea what i need to buy. What costs more, coilovers or lowering springs. Do i need new shocks. Where can I get a good deal on the things I need. If u live in San Jose, CA do u know any good places. Also what is the overall price.

Try going to the suspension forum, and reading the threads there starting with todays date and going back in time using the "last X days" feature on the bottom of the topic...

be brave and do it yourself...just don't be like me and over torque the strut top bolts

what problem did you cause by over-torquing them?

Argh! I've changed suspension before fine on VW's and GMC's but I spend an entire day just trying to do the rear springs on my rex. Ugh. I gaveup and took it someplace and it took them 5 hours to install the springs.

*sigh*

It was worth it though

After doing some searching on this BB to find out what suspension setup is right for you, check out i-SpeedUSA. They're in the S.J. area. They can answer your questions, sell you the parts, and install 'em. Christoph1371 and Skywalker, on this board, run it and they'll help you make the right decisions. Ask around, they're good guys.
