Liberals love their green city. They masturbate at night thinking about how awesome Seattle is. They want more buses and more transportation; but when it comes down to it...everybody wants buses and bikes for everyone *ELSE*, so that they can get around town in their car. Standard of living is high here, and if you are educated you'll do fine. If you are not, then be prepared to be one of the dreadlocked idiots out in Pioneer Square striking because your entry level job doesn't pay above...wait for it...entry level.

Our traffic is some of the worst in the country. The Olympia to Everett I5 corridor is disgusting. Every passive aggressive PoS will coast at 56 in the left lane, our State Patrol budget is triple most states (on the upside, they are considered elite by police standards around the country), so be prepared to get a ticket or 2.

You will hate the traffic, you will hate the weather. But the upside is that, when the sun DOES come out, you enjoy it a bit more...contrary to popular belief it doesn't rain much here (Vegas gets more rain than we do) but we spread it out...we'll get heavy drizzle for days instead of a rain squall downpour for an hour. BUT, you have snow just an hour east for boarding, hot desert an hour further east of that for nice driving and sightseeing, and you'll find you get used to having so many trees.

Generally our area is in cliques, as above mouth breather mentioned...eastside Bothell/Bellevue/Kirkland/Issaquah is HIGH standard of living (considered the rich), the south area (Puyallup/Auburn/Kent/Renton/Tacoma/Federal Way) is very high crime, the North End (Everett/Arlington/Marysville) is very sparse and easy to get a house with a few acres, unless you hate the commute back into Seattle. Downtown Seattle is expensive and parking is literally disappearing by the day (parking lots are being sold and turned into condos). I love Seattle as a city to sightsee in and take in the sights, but hate the people. The sanctuary city aspect makes our city a HUGE crime infestation...we get stabbings and shootings in between whatever random oppressed white victims are striking about by walking down major thoroughfares to snarl traffic. Lots of people will butthurt over the southend crime, but the per capita crime rates back up my statement.

That's all I got. I chose to live in the north end (Arlington) because for the price of an 800 sq ft. condo in the city, I got a 2100 sq. ft. house with 25 acres at the cost of an extra hour a day total commute. Wherever you choose to live, just research the area because Car Thefts (especially Subarus) are becoming really big here.

God I am such a downer...think i'll take a painkiller now.
This is actually pretty accurate. Props.

Also I came from NH, where cost of living was cheeeaaaap. Never lived in san diego but I imagine its $$ down there; either way seattle is quite expensive. Parking downtown can be $12-15 per day, and commuting downtown from 10 miles north can take 25 minutes or so; 60 on game days..

Why are people so butthurt about the rain? Doesn't anybody in this thread ski/board?

I spend my weekends enjoying the snow and the mountains during the rainy season. Except when it rains up there too of course.

why that POS that commented on this thread is a still a Moderator, is beyond me..

otherwise, Seattle's and surrounding cities are really nice places to live, but if you like the sun , probably not for you.

and Snowboarding is amazing (when it's not raining.)
