Post Attn: Aaron

I got all of the parts to put my Ground Contral/ KYB AGX suspension in. How hard is it and are there any tips you can give me? Thanks!

Eric

Since I helped Aaron on his GC install, plus did mine 3x, I can say it's gotten much easier...

It's not fun, but it's not too bad. The big thing to remember is to put the bump stops from the old shocks onto the KYB's. I don't think Aaron has put his on yet.

Thanks. One quick Question:

The Collars are to big to slip over the big 8-point nut that screws into the shock housing on two ofthe shocks. Do I just trim the edges of the nuts off to get the collars off?
Thanks

Eric

They are hard to explain. They are not really nuts. The top of the shock that screws into the housing is an 8-point something-or-other that the shock shaft goes through.

It is only that way on two shocks (Either the front or rear)The points of that piece stick out farther than the shock housing. I think I can shave the corners off.

Any idea about what I am talking about yet?

Did you order your GC's and KYB's seperate?

I ordered both from GC and the adjustable collars were already installed on the struts. So I probably can't help you if that is the problem.

Like Kevin said make sure to remove the dust cap and bump stops and put them on the KYBs. Also you will want to cut the bump stops in half to get any decent amount of suspension travel.

Any more Q's just ask.

thanks, I think I figured everything out. Now, I just need a place to install them.

Would any of you guys mind helping me out one day since you can probably do them about 5 times quicker! Thanks

Eric

P.S. I won't post about shaving nuts any more
