Default Boostinc 2002 wrx/GTX3582R/10.05 1/4 mile @ 8,500+ DA

Here's a few runs of my 2002 wrx running on a gtx3582R. This is at Albuquerque Dragway which is arguably the slowest track in the nation.

nice pass, that car must be pretty light. What tires?I assume drag radials not slicks. You still have more in it just in the 60ft with some stickier tires.

Also this car is dollarstore tuned (Camtuning), couldn't have done it without 06rexwagon. I've been following along close trying to learn as much as I can.

10.2 run was at 34 psi and using ftw purple. However I was seeing high knock voltages and it was pulling timing and adding fuel. We were wondering if these were a result of a lifted head because we had been pushing some coolant the last few weeks. After we pulled the head to find a blown (through the middle lol) head gasket. Cosworth gaskets ftl.

Thank you, yeah for the setup it's not very good 60's. I am running the m&h 245 radial but had them aired up a lot. Hoping to pull that 60' down with adjustments there and to the anti lag, just too much boost and it's unloading the tires.

yeah get the launch and tires dialed in and 1.4 sixty's should be common.I try to leave on about 10-12 lbs of boost and try not to stay on the 2-step for more than a few seconds.good luck on your next outing

Isn't it harder to cut decent 60' times at elevation or no?

Very nice! What kind of power are you making? How high are you revving? And how much do you weigh?

The car made 670 actual whp at altitude on a very hot day in the middle of the summer on a dynojet. Take it as you will, the SAE corrected number was 806 whp. The 10.20 run I had the limiter set at 8,000 rpms but next time out I'll raise it to 8,500 rpms to see if staying in 4th will help me out. I'd venture to guess that the car weighs ~3200 lbs with me in it.

I came across this video looking for some pictures to post. I thought it was a cool video of our track experience about a month ago. It has some walk around shots and engine shots.

I don't really think so. It doesn't take gobs of power to cut good times so I don't think the altitude will affect it too much. Good question though, I've never been down in altitude to launch the car to give a good answer.

SO close!

This thing has so much power at elevation it's almost ridiculous LOL! I would love to see this car run at 800ft or something, just blow the doors off a few cars and head home

How many feet above sea level are you at that track?

Track altitude is 5295'. The DA is usually 7700-8100'. While Kyle was having fun in Vader I broke a Carrillo Pro h beam and made a nice hole in my block. It was still cool seeing that pile get down.

Yeah that's way up there!

Well I guess at least you have a good excuse to tear it apart and build it even stronger. What route you going to take for rods now?
