Why would you? Not being as ass. Just curious. Most people that run into transmission problems are either producing some serious power or drive like an ass hat.

Which Impreza and which transmission are you talking about? More specifically, are you talking about the 2013 Impreza with the CVT?

I have a Crosstrek with the CVT tranny (pretty much the same as a 13 Impreza). No issues, no problems, no complaints. It's sealed.

We had one 2012(1 1/2 years ago) that the CVT had a hiccup with 400 miles on it. I forget what they said they replaced(small thing) but it has run flawless since. The thing I hate the worst, it was for the wife of one of our Nissan techs. He knows how bad the Nissan CVT was and it was a concern to get a Subaru CVT. I spent a lot of time with them figuring what car/trim/options to get telling them "nah, its a Subaru. You won't have ANY problems".

That's the only issue with the 2nd gen LCVT we've had.

The transmission in my '13 WRX hasn't given me any problems so far. 1st to 2nd sometimes feels like it's grinding but I don't hear anything, it can feel I guess you could say "rough" sometimes compared to the other gears. But the car barely has 1700 miles, maybe it'll settle down in a few hundred more miles.

Mine feels the same way. The shifter is pretty notchy too, with almost 600 miles. Do you have the short throw in your car?

I have a '13 STI with the factory short throw and it definitely feels notchy. Let it go for a while but now sometimes under load when I shift the clutch doesn't properly disengage the engine and I grind. Happens only 1/30 times but its still enough to make me question it. Out the door I honestly believe the clutch needs a touch more
Free play ... Also the stock bushings in the short shifter need to be changed to aftermarket stiff ones. Could come down to either of those two, I'm bringing it into the dealer this weekend since its under warranty.

5th gear is real tight, but it's easing up with 12k+ miles now.

The WRX 5 speed is a pretty rough animal. Double-clutching to 1st and 2nd and rev-matching are all your friends.

Factory STS, 8K miles and 5th has been tight for me as well since new. Going into 3rd is very notchy, and at times crunchy. Feels like the synchro for 3rd doesn't quite do its job. I would say the stock tranny in my 05 wrx with 122K miles was a lot smoother in and out of gears.

Mine cvt is awesome. Doesn't even feel like it's shifting at all.
But it has kinda of a soft bounce when I shift from park to reverse or drive to reverse. Dealer said it was normal Bc it's a cvt. Any input on this?

2012 5MT impreza sport. 47,000 miles. The transmission smoothed out noticeably when I changed the fluid out at 30k with a nice synthetic 75w90. May have been the placebo effect but I truly feel it smoothed out. My only true gripe is the fact that 5th will grind readily unless I am patient and time the shift very well with the rpm drop.

I finally started running into issues with my 2012 Impreza WRX base 2.5 turbo. And as the second responder so put it "asshat or driving habits" don't always have to do with something breaking. I was a mechanic for 14 years and saw all kinds of issues with cars sometimes for no a reason, stuff just breaks, no one can build the perfect part.
Anyway, recently my throwout bearing started making noise at around 17k. Now I have 18.5k and when I got home tonight I swore i heard crickets chirping away(seriously) and then I realized it was my car, opened the hood hoping it was a belt only to realize when I push the clutch in it goes away. Seems I'll be making a trip to the dealer. I also have issues with my synchros, mostly 3rd gear. And I drive this car 95% on the highway with moderate abuse from time to time. That's what they're f**king built for! tired of pansy ass mo fo's saying not to drive them fast or don't do this.....seriously? My two cents. Let the bashing begin. Haters. ;-)
