Don't know if anyone else has seen this, but I saw a truck pulled over on the freeway this morning. He was pulled over by an undercover DPS officer. The DPS guy was driving a late model Chevy Impala SS, the new ugly one. It was all white with dark windows.
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on that. Keep it slow if you see one of these behind you. ![]() Slidewaysmike

The sneaky devils!
I had a close call the other day on the way home from work. I was stuck behind a long line of traffic in the left hand lane when the right lane opened up. So, snapped it over and punched it. Fortunately, I leveled off at about 5-10 over and check my mirror before switching back to the left lane to go around a slower car. Behind me some maniac was comming up on me fast, so I let it roll down a little and waited for him to pass. It turned out to be a cop. Fortunately, he blew past me and kept on going. :whew!: I switched lanes and went on my merry way. I actually caught him at the next light. He barreled off from that light too. I guess he just drives like we do. ![]() -Red |

There have been many weird vehicles driven by DPS officers on the roads. Here are some of my favorites:
Volvo Turbo: Its got the paint scheme, but the lights are hidden in the windows. Known to hang out in the area of I17 and downtown I10. Lowered Cheverolet Tahoe: One of my favorites for its, OMG, thats a cop? factor. This one seems to hang out in the Scottsdale area, but is plainly marked by a top mounted light bar. Late Model Cheverolet Camaro: I have seen green and red, and there is no way to tell they are cops until they flip on the red and blue lights. Their strobes are conveniently hidden in the upper corners of the windshield and behind the limo tinted rear window. Mid 90s Toyota Pickup: I have seen a couple of these, but I believe they are for driver's assistance. They have the standard light bar over the cab, and are painted black and white. I remember a cop telling me once that 1 out of 3 officers drives an undercover car. So always be careful! -Dan |
