Did it have a bigass wing on it? If so, it would most likely be mine.

Nope it had the stock wing. The only thing I noticed on it that made it not look entirely stock was a black step pad looking thing that went across the top of the back bumper. I have never seen anything like it. It was about the width of the trunk and it went down about an inch past the top of the bumper.

That sounds like the rear bumper guard that is a factory option. I don't particularly care for it.

Sounds like there are quite a few Scoobies out there in our little town that don't even know about our little club. Maybe we should pitch in a little bit of money and get some business cards made so we can leave them with people? Is that a stupid idea?
I just went over to the NESIC web sight, and man, they have alot of members who actively participate in meets and the such. I think that would be cool
Check it out if you havent yet.

PS, download the screen saver, it has a million pictures of Scoobs on it.

Question

Maybe we need to start thinking about doing something like that. I think it would be a pretty cool affair.

I actually "accosted" a guy in the parking lot of Montgomery Ward today,(had to check out the clearance items) I parked a zillion miles away and when I came out there was a MY'00 blue RS parked next to mine. I left a note on the windsheild about the test & tune, AZScooby, and i-club. As I was leaving, my wife said she tought she saw someone walking to that car, turned around and introduced myself. The guy seemed genuinely interested and he said he was going to the test & tune tomorrow. So maybe we will see.
Anyway, I think we need to do something a little more organized, and try to get some more people invovled. Think about how cool it would be to have a caravan of Imprezas and Subes going to have fun out in the wilderness somewhere. Definately sounds fun.

What kind of things would we want on the flyer? Web sites? What would the name of it be?

I know AZScooby would be one idea. But how would we classify our auto club? At the moment, we are a bunch of Subaru owners that love to drive them. Could you imagine some sixty year old couple coming to us and wanting to be a part of it thinking its something laid back?

AZ Scooby: A Subaru motorsports club. Since many of us are bonded with this idea of racing our cars, it should definately mention this in a flyer.

Pictures? Some of our last meets? The mailing list? Anybody have any ideas?

Thumbs up

AZ Scooby should probably be the focal point.
Just a real easy and simple flyer with a few pictures of Scoobies in action, sliding sideways, or something really cool like that. At least that would give the idea that we aren't for just sitting around and playing pinnochle or bridge or some other card game like that.
Maybe mention that we attend auto-x, pro-rally, drag race events, something to get people excited.
But Red is right, if we are going to start something we really need to sit down and talk with everyone who wants to be a charter member, elect officials and create an agenda.
I say we start by trying to brainstorm and come up with everyones opinion tomorrow at the auto-x or over lunch would be even better.
Everyone up for that?

Talking

I nominated myself as King. As your King, I decree that we are a communist state and that elections will be held on the 13th day of the 13th month, Smarch. And when our 1 party systems elects it's Shah, he/she/it will be then tasked with seeking out a vice-Shah, who will actually run the socialist regime.

What do you think?

Anyways..... I think it would be a good idea to transpose this into another thread, though be it that this one is a great starting point. I like the idea of having a website, flyers, meetings, dues and toga party with chicks and guns and firetrucks and hookers and drugs and booze!

Thumbs up

Mike,

I've accosted innocent Subaru owners in the parking lots before, but they usually just look at me like I'm insane.

We talked once about making up fliers and giving them to the Subaru dealers so that people who bought new cars (especially RS's) would find out about us. I've suggested putting i-Club and AZScooby information on them as well as SCCA autocross, Rallycross*, and local drag racing information on it. The problem is, we're not really organized as a club (we'd really need to start thinking about officers and meetings and such), so it's kinda' hard to organize something like this.

Any ideas?

-Red

*-We're supposed to start an Arizona rallycross series this year, run by Bill Barfoot the guy who organized the Prescott Forest Rally, but we haven't heard from Bill in a while. Maybe I'll try to get ahold of him and see if he needs some help.
