Default curious?

I live in Surrey British Columbia and I currently am a student at BCIT. I own a 1995 civic coupe DX. I plan on selling that when I get out and I am most likely going to buy my neighbors 2004 WRX.

Here is my question as I will be new to EVERYTHING that has to do with Subaru's.

- I love the rumble but I am thinking long term. I want that rumble but if my girlfriend and I have a kid in the future I don't want this car to be loud! I have done some research on different mufflers and I am just wanting some opinions. I do want to get a 3" downpipe and a full 3" exhaust but I don't think I want to do name brand. I just want to take it do a shop and have them make me one.

Now things that matter with that!
-PRICE!!!!
-What are good makes and models for the muffler?
-what are good makes and models for the down pipe?

Any information would be great!

Thanks Anthony Zanatta

You want to get a good quality exhaust. Do it right or don't do it at all. You can cause more problems, which will cost more money, if you buy and install cheap parts. If your financial situation makes it illogical to invest in a name brand, don't do it!

Car part reviews forum, go read it. Will tell you everything. There is no "best" brand. Just about anyone will do just fine. Hell even an ebay brand will work if you can make it fit.

Cool, I went to BCIT as well. the invidia catless DP is pretty well priced as is Megan and they're of decent quality, I had a friend with the megan pipe and I use the invidia myself- they both run about $250ish. Keep in mind if you go with a catless downpipe you're going to have to invest in a cobb accessport too..

as for exhaust, it's personal preference I guess. Being in vancouver you could just get an ebay catback on the cheap as it won't rust so bad in that climate. Maybe meet up with some VIC members to hear their exhausts because youtube clips don't translate that well into real life.

Lol. They're pipes dude. If they fit, they'll work just fine. I've never ran anything other than an eBay dp on the two Subaru's I had over the course of six years. Never incurred any unplanned expenditures because of an eBay exhaust.

Thanks for all the advice! Really appreciate it! I love the Xforce Varex muffler but I cant find it on ebay and to get one new is around 700$!!! also when I mean price I don't want to go "broke" just for a new exhaust. I will for sure check out ebay. here is another big question too.

what type of this do I want to look out for? and in Vancouver does any one know of a good shop to go too?
