Question ewg 44 vs 38mm... help?

I have an 04 STI. First subie and loving it! Ive done a few light mods and have run into a bit of an an issue. I put an invidia catless downpipe on to match the invidia catback exhaust that came on the car Took it to Cobb Surgeline for a tune and they told me I need to do an ewg. They recommended a tien 44mm. Started comparison shopping, lookin for the most bang for my buck. There seem to be only a couple different sizes available (38mm and 44mm) found a great deal on a 38mm with dump tube, uppipe and headers but dont know if the 38mm will work. So I guess my question is what besides the obvious measurement number, is the difference? And will the 38mm be sufficient?

If your Tuner says 44mm ... what do you think you should get?

1. You have not read the sticky threads at the top of this forum. Unabomber's Manifesto is the post and inside is the Boost Control FAQ.
2. Even if you do item 1 and learn, it will still not change the premise that your tuner's advice when it comes to certain items is the rule of God. NEVER pine, bemoan, besmirch, cajole, or offer any pushback to a tuner when he recommends fueling or boost control items.
