Default Dash cam

I was wondering how many people use dash cams? What dash cams do you use and how well do you like them?

The DOD LS300W is a model designed with compact, usability and functionality in mind. While the camera packs great standard features such as 1080P Full HD video recording, loop recording, supporting up to 32 GB microSDHC media card (provides up to 8 hours of video storage), it also sports new enhancements including a 6-layered glass lens, providing stunning clear recording; a built-in G-sensor, which protects the current video recording from being erased when the sensor detects an possible impact to your vehicle; and also incorporated with WDR Technology (Wide Dynamic Range), which enables the camera to deliver video with near perfect exposure in the harshest of lighting conditions.
More specs: http://www.dod-tech.ca/product/dod-ls300w-wdr-car-dvr/

bjcarter uses one. It's awesome.

When I did some research most places were saying the DVR-027 is the best.

That LS300w looks really nice. I want one for one I am making the commute to and from anchorage. That way if I am in an accident I will have evidence if it is not my fault, or if I see one I can offer help.

Well that and when I start doing autocross I can record my runs.

Why do you guys want one?

I want mine just in case I get harassed by police or in case of an accident.

I wonder what the difference in quality would be between the LS300w and the GO PRO.

This has to be the dumbest thing I've ever watched.

From their website...

I was hoping for actual footage, and specs on the different models. Wow, none of that.

From what I've read, a GO PRO doesn't make the best dash cam. You'd have to cut a hole in the waterproof case to plug in the charger.

There's other mounts so u so don't have to cut a water proof one. Also it has great quality

This is simply not true!

Depending on the accessories you bought, you may be able to plug into an uninterrupted power source. There are skeleton housings and doors as well as the "Frame" that allow this and other options too.

I recorded almost 7 straight hours of video on a motorcycle ride and never touched the battery.

Great post.

I got one from szswill.com for my new 2014 wrx as soon as I picked it up earlier, there are so many liars out there now where it comes to driving. Just one accident that isnt forced to go 50/50 because some liar decides that he doesnt want to payfor an accident that they caused (With no witness or even a witness that magically appears on their behalf) will be well worth it. And especially with all the insurance scams going around lately with people intentionally causing accidents (Such as overtaking then immediately slamming on the brakes) rear diver would be considered at fault without any witnesses or evidence and another scumbag would get away with it..

I use my CONTOUR +2 when I want to record the commute. Pretty satisfied so far.

I've been thinking of getting one for the days I commute to work on my motorcycle for exactly this reason. It'd be tough to argue video proof of any wrong doing.

I have a lifeproof case for my iPhone and the window mount. Has a cut out for the camera. Not the best quality video, but works for me.
