Default My 2010 Obsidian black 2.5i build

A brief explanation of my Subaru history.

Got my license when I was 18. My first car was an 04 wrx. Topped out in fifth gear and wrecked it coming around a turn in less than a month. I was lucky that day and didn't get a scratch on me. Did not deserve the car. After that, I drove a 1998 outback for about a year. Piece of **** but I loved it. Now I've got a good job and bought a used 2010 Impreza 2.5i. 5-speed tranny and COMPLETELY base. A blank canvas, ready for anything.

Can't figure out how to post pictures from my phone... will update when I get home from work.

First mod was to get rid of all the shiny stuff. Coming in the mail are Megan racing coilovers, Corbeau seat, 5-point harness, kartboy shortshifter, and a nice ebay shift knob. Will update as things arrive!

Got a little surprise when I went to install the coilovers. They didn't fit. Guess I shouldve done my research. It would appear that they dont make complete coilovers for the 2.5i. Makes sense now why everyone is on springs buuuuut, My friends and I weren't about to give up after all the waiting (three whole days). Just a few modifications later, and now my Impreza is happily slammed on some Megan Racing coilovers. Will post pictures later

And here they are:

and old vs new:

My modification I had to make to get the bolts through:

PS: I didn't do a whole lot of research obviously. Ask around and see if you can find coilovers that are actually made for the car... or just get springs. But if there really aren't any and you have to mod like I did, MAKE SURE YOU DRILL THE BOTTOM HOLE THAT IS COMPLETELY CIRCULAR. The top whole is a funny shape because it is used to adjust camber. If you mess with that hole it won't be good at all.

And the results:

I got the Corbeau seat in today as well. Will post pictures when I have the bracket and install.

Cheers
