Vivid Racing said the same. They said they had two other orders before me, and that Blacktop were well in business but the wing itself was back ordered for 6-8 weeks. Early christmas present?

^^^ Agree. Is there still a GB in the works? Vendors? Seems like even with the individuals and all we could still prolly pull about 15-20 people looking to buy and given the time of year its prolly a good opportunity to get in in motion.

I think that's a little optimistic. the site didn't just .. have problems or temporarily go down. it was halfway functional for a while, and now it's been completely down for a while. any company that was in working order would have kept it in good standing or fixed it relatively quickly, unless there's some behind the scenes drama they don't want to share.

on the flip side, the place I ordered my BT aero spoiler from in the UK said they were the UK supplier for BT aero parts, and they cannot get in touch with them, and they think they're out of business, too.

Looks like the domain is blanked out by their provider. Even their emails don't work.
Mail Delivery Subsystem <mailer-daemon@googlemail.com>
9:52 AM (0 minutes ago)

to me
Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:

sales@blacktopaero.com

Technical details of permanent failure:
Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the server for the recipient domain blacktopaero.com by mx1.emailsrvr.com. [173.203.2.36].

The error that the other server returned was:
550 5.7.1 <sales@blacktopaero.com>: Relay access denied.
The domain resolves et al. The page does load. It just seems as though their provider suspended the domain account.

Vivid Racing was also confident that they were still in business. I will try to contact them again today to see if they have an update.

I'm also going to try to contact Blacktop personally to see if I can get a different answer.

I never realised this before, but GT Spec, Rav Spec and Blacktop Aero are the same company?

that's what I heard, too, but they aren't speaking out and telling people exactly what is going on, so it seems very questionable to me. if they products were still going to be available shortly you'd think they would chime and tell their potential customers what is happening. leaving them in the dark is just a poor choice and sends them elsewhere.

I got word from a NASIOC vendor today that they're pulling the Blacktop Aero items from their website. They stated that Blacktop is having issues with their factory.

that is my assumption. they are probably being wishy washy in the off chance that they fix their supplier problem or find another supplier.

If you guys want the wings quick, just get them off Ebay instead of waiting 4-5 months

Another update for you guys.

I got a note from VividRacing with whom I currently have my pre-order with.

On September 25th (website had been down for a while at this point), they received an update from GTSpec/BlackTop stating that their VR lip demand for the FRS/BRZ platform far exceeded what they expected. They re-routed the factory, and it has been focusing on making lips for them to catch up on the demand. Once the lips are done, all other products would continue on their normal manufacturing schedule to continue the demand flow. BlackTop provided a 2-3 month ETA on these spoilers.

At the time of my order, I was told that I was the 3rd pre-order. Today, I was told that they now have several pre-ordered. They are guaranteeing a full refund if anything goes south. James @ VividRacing said to send him an email if you want to pre-order one. He's offering special pricing. Here's his email address: James at VividRacing dot com

Is the wing span made of real CF?

I had the Blacktop Aero spoiler and the middle of the wing was CF, just like the pics all over the place.

Ya, I just heard a few stories that the eBay version had a fake CF wing span. Entaille just reported something similar for his on iwsti.

my spoiler came in a blacktop aero box and had blacktop aero plastic wrapping on the parts, but the center blade was only CF on the top portion of the blade, and CF on the mounting points where you bolt the blade to the side pieces. it looked like it was inlaid and cleared over instead of being all CF. the bottom side is black. I don't know what to make of it, did I catch one after they changed suppliers or did I get a fake or .. ?

.. it also did not come in primer, like everyone elses.

my seller can't even get in contact with them to ask what is up with it. I don't know what to think, but I'm not terribly happy about it, especially since I paid a premium for mine and shipped it from the UK.
