Default Roof Rack compatability?

So theres a guy on craigslist selling a roof rack that was on his 2010-12 legacy. The price is really good and I want to pick it up which leads to my question. Does anyone know if a 2010-2012 legacy roof rack will fit on an 02 WRX? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

depends what kind of towers he has on the rack. since he has a newer model subaru he probably has attachments that go on the railings. if anything the towers are the only thing you should be changing.

The pictures look like the towers have the clips that go under the door frame, which if i'm not mistaking, is what you need for the bugeye roof rack

yeah. those would be the towers you need. unless you thought about drilling into the railings on the roof.

you need to get the exact part number from the seller or check out the ones he has in person. kinda hard to say by looking at a picture.

I did not see the pic but I will give you the info assuming it's a Thule Roof Rack. The legacy 4 dr 10-12 fit is comprise of 3 elements (foot pack, fit kit "hook" and X bars). Thule have to type of foot packs for that vehicle, square bars or Rapid (for aluminum bars)). The legacy 4 dr have either the 480 or 480R (rapid) foot pack with fit kit 1574 and 53" Rapid or 50" square x-bars. Your vehicle WRX 02 will also use the same foot pack (either 480 or 480R). You will need to purchase a new Fit Kit #1210. The Xbars will be the same if they are the square model (50"). If they are aluminum, Thule's fit is 47" for your car but the 53" will work (just watch you head when you get in your car ;-)
I hope this help!
Cheers
