biknman, where's the plastic that goes over the steering column? Did it have to be removed to fit the dash?

I was wondering about getting one of these...I have the dash top autometer pod right now, but I have the Megan gauges (actually pretty decent, except you can't read them in bright sunlight), so I thought about getting one of these to get them more into the shade. How is the angle of the gauges when you're actually in the driving position, are they reasonably easy to see?

I ahve the Autometer version (although I have heard the non autometer is identical) and really like the position of the gauges. They are just a hair low for racing as I do have to divert my eyes from the road slightly to see them which means I can only really look at them on straights, but it works well.

I love the mounting pod I got from http://www.rallysportdirect.com. It's the most OEM looking setup for the BF gauges, IMO. Quality and fitment are pretty impressive. It's made of fiberglass and painted with a nice textured surface which matches the interior pretty well. Only downside is that it's pricey.

Here's the product link:

I ended up making my own gauge pillar. I cant stank some of these gauge pods that they are so big they are just in your face all the time

it is angled down a little. I can still see it good though. The reason I did that was to have it sunk in as much as possible. For someone tall it probably sucks.

Excellent, I've been looking at the position on my car a bit, and I think it will give the tinted gauges more shade, and make them easier to read during the day.

Thanks,
Steve

Yea, and he admits he was likely drunk when he started this thread.
