Default People ****ing with my car

I used to have a nice off street spot that I payed for where the only incident I ever had was some dumb bitch opening her door into mine and creating a ding. Which pissed me off...

That place disappeared and now I have a new spot up against the back of a building where a bunch of college kids live. There are some balconies decks up above on the passenger side.

First incident = late last year I come out and find a broken beer bottle all over the hood/wiper area and a fresh ding in my hood. Complained and got a free month rent... the car already had a bunch of dings from wear and tear and other inconsiderate pricks.

Bought a 2013 sti in june... have noticed cigarette ashes showing up on the hood on occassion. Then last week I find a ton of them and a burn mark in the paint/clearcoat up near the top of the hood near the windshield. Appt. for detail shop tomorrow to see if they can get it out but it looks like permanent damage to me.

Stupidly, after some beers with friends tonight I decide to go check on my car on the way home (I typically public commute to/fro work so the car is sitting in that lot most of the time) and find that it looks like someone dumped a can of soda or beer on the car. I don't knwo maybe they even pissed on it - nothing surpirses me at this point.

Obviously, I give a **** about my car, especially considering it's brand ****ing new... and I'm seriously pissed the **** off at these little bitches ****ing with my car for NO REASON.

Why? why are people such complete ********? what did I do to deserve this ****?

More importantly - what do I do now. I'm already in the progress of finding a new spot and have good lead although it's a LOT more $ - garage spot in a quiet neighborhood.

However, I want to know if there is anything I can do to the people who are renting me that spot - I did not sign anything as far as I know but I imagine that the yare probably not liable in any way for this. I am angry and want to hold someone responsible. If I could legally go beat the piss out of every college kid in that building I would do it in a second.

Looking for suggestions on what I can/should do now. Anything... I need some ****ing closure here.

Move to OT if appropriate.

Maybe you should have invested your money in real estate in a better neighborhood rather than a $35,000 japanese economy car

Hard to understand since I live in the 'burbs and have a 3 car garage. Hate to say it, but if I lived in an urban area I wouldn't own a nice car. 1980 Caprice, or something along those lines.

Rent a storage garage somewhere that you can use public transport to access in the event you want to use the car.

Didn't you realize cars living in major metropolitan areas all turn into pieces of **** relatively quickly?

Boston isn't the biggest city around but it's no exception, you don't buy a new car and let it sit in a public place then get mad that it's being messed with. People have been scumnbags longer than cars have been around, what is happening to you isn't much of a surprise.

That or work on lowering the amount of enemies you potentially have.

On a serious note, I know how you feel. At work I have no option but to park with the Neons and Mazda3's. A lady at work who is known for her terrible driving (she look out the front steps to the office because she didnt look behind her before she floored it in reverse) came flying into the spot beside me because she was running late and hit my rear bumper/tire, then dragged it up the driver side of the car. Parked...then came in and didn't say anything to me.

One of my colleagues saw her come in and came straight to me. I wanted to wring her neck and all she could say is that I didn't leave much room for her to pull in, even though she had 5 feet on the other side of her car.

Some people have no respect for others possessions. Just because they think a car is a tin box to get from A to B doesn't mean that everyone else thinks that way.

Honestly man I don't know if this is an option for you, but I usually park in the T garages ( I am from the Boston area to). My school is near a T garage and I get free parking so I just leave my car on top floor against a wall with no one around. Transit police patrols it so I feel sorta safe there. I'd rather know my cars there than in the lot with a million other a****les. Try it out maybe get in good with one of the attendants or something.

It's not a surprise to me... Have been living here for a while and take care to rent spots that seem relatively safe... I was wrong about this one. Bit being someone that is considerate of others and their property, it never ceases to amaze me how inconsiderate and downright mean people are. I was a college kids once but I don't remember ever ducking with people shoot like this.. M of course I have no idea whether it's intentional or just stupid people being careless.. Just a rant more than anything but it would sure be nice to get some kind of retribution

Sorry for auto correct errors

I know this might be pretty extreme, but stay out, undercover somewhere, and watch for the people to mess with your car (if it's at your place of residence). Approach them in the act or find out what they drive.....

Pretty similar to my options but mine is better since he won't be getting into any legal issues

That's the crappy part, unless you have some kind of history with these people you probably haven't done anything to deserve it.

But the red flags here are you're parked behind a building and right next to where a bunch of college students live. You need to get a spot away from their living area. Doesn't matter what you drive, they don't give a **** and as long as you're right next to their little hang out spot the crap is gonna continue. I've seen people at my college crowd around their own cars with their friends who usually end up using the car next to them as a bench or lean on it while they smoke and do whatever.

Entirely your fault. And nobody is screwing with your car on purpose. There's a reason you don't see nice cars on the street in boston. It's because most people are, apparently, smarter than you.

You have a few options:
1) Live with it.
2) find a garage to rent. I do this in my neighborhood for my motorcycle. $100/mo well spent
3) but second car and store the STI somewhere.
4) spray paint your car and make it look like a total beater. Then you won't care.
