Default MAP sensor issue

Hey so I've got a built bottom end and tons of other goodies as well as a blouch dom 3xtr running at about 23psi protuned with the accessport. As I understand, the factor MAP sensor starts to reach it's limit at around 22-24psi. I'm getting a CEL for P0108 which is basically a high output MAP sensor code which I only get at WOT at 23 or so pounds.

I am looking to upgrade to an OMNI 4 bar which is a direct replacement to the stock sensor and I've been told two different things as far as tuning goes.

A: the scaling parameters within the accessport map can be changed to accommodate the new sensor and then the car will run fine.

B: the car will need to be completely retuned which is another $500 wasted just for a CEL to be gone.

So what's the real answer?

I think if you are going to run over 22psi, then you should do the upgrade. I just went to the OMNI 4 bar and Im tuned to 23.5 psi with room for more later (retune).

My tune cost $300 for a full one

So 300 + 100 for sensor is around 400 to run higher boost lol

A) Yes, you just need to adjust the MAP Sensor Multiplier and Offset for the new sensor and it will read fine.

B) Not sure about a complete retune. A new map with a few adjustments, yes. And your boost cut may need to be adjusted since you essentially have had a disabled boost cut with the boost levels you have been running on the stock MAP sensor. Contact your tuner to see if he even feels that the car needs to be put back on the dyno or not.
