Question Dealership Service?

Does anyone know if any of the dealerships have a service department guy who would not notice a turbocharged RS?

I am occassionally getting the 02 sensor CE light, and I have the recall notice to get it replaced, but I don't want to deal with the hassle of taking my car down there and them not replacing it due to its current condition (turbo'd).

I would love to just have them give me the new parts and I will swap them out and give them the old ones. I don't mind doing the labor. I don't even mind paying for the new 02 sensor, but if they have been found to be defective from the factory I think even though I turbo'd my car it should be replaced. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Aaron

I didn't know that you were still getting them.... I was going to take mine in prior to the install of the kit but decided against it with all of the problems I've had with the local dealerships.

Anyone know a good one?

I got one since the turbo last week, I reset the ECU and it was fine.

Christine was out turbo'ing around tonight (I have the Forester at work) and she got the CE light.

So yes I appear to be getting them again.

This is actually a problem I'd like to see resolved. (The dealership, thing. Your CE light too, but mainly the dealership thing.) It just kills me that we have such crappy dealerships in town. Maybe I'll send an E-mail to SOA and bitch about it. According to Curt, they've got an outstanding dealership Oregon. Very performance friendly and willing to help.

I think you have a good arguement that the O2 sensor problem is unrelated to the turbo. Have you been able to check the OBDII port to verify that it is the O2 sensor that is the problem?

Do you know Colby at Pitre Subaru Scottsdale? He told me that he would run do an engine reset, or even check CE codes if I brought the car by. No going through the service people, just him running out to the car with the device and running the codes etc.

Hey Dan,

Is Colby a sales person or a tech? Do you have a number for him? I will go to that dealership if I can get the codes read without much hassle.

Do you know how they feel about heavily modified cars?

Thanks,

Aaron

That would be good if we had a dealer we could trust.
