Angry Any other NESIC members get SCAMMED by their dealer??

This mainly applies to anyone who has purchased an Impreza WRX or 2.5RS from a dealer in New England.

In case any of you werent aware of this, all New England Subaru dealers are under "control" by Subaru of New England NOT SOA. When I talked to SOA about my problem (click here for all the details ) they told me Subaru dealers in New England can install aftermarket parts (in this case my spoiler) and sell them at whatever price they want to. Basically I paid OEM price for an Aftermarket spoiler. You should check the link above and compare your spoiler with the pics to find out which one you have. And also input some feedback in this matter please.

So I went to the dealer today and looked at the WRXs there and out of the 3 they had (2 were 03s and 1 was 02) 1 of them had the same aftermarket spoiler that I have and it was an 03. I am so pissed that I have this crappy aftermarket spoiler and the dealer isnt doing a damn thing about it. They basically told me to go and :monkey: myself.

What they said is true. Ernie Bach the guy that owns Subaru of New England is NOTORIOUS for doing this.

He has been sued before regarding this (class action).

There's legal action you can take.

I'm amazed he's back to his old tactics. (I thought there was a cease and desist on him doing stuff of this kind)

I would call some of the people listed here and get details. Please note the date on the article.

You got screwed. That is total BS. Get a lawyer involved. Two wings my ass.

You should go to the parts department and order a wing. When it comes in ask why it's not like the one installed on your car that you already paid for.

Perhaps I was screwed as well. My spoiler matches his exactly. Same markings, same screw job, etc. My car was made in 02/02.

I did some digging around on the 'net.

Here's what I found:

http://www.wingswest.com/products_de...page=1&id=1517

Looks like mine.

Here's a big picture:

Now I need to find a big picture of an OEM spoiler for a wrx not from New England.

thanks to North Ursalia for posting a high quality pic:

http://www.northursalia.com/m.../stockwrx2.jpg

That is not my wing. My wing light is red with 35 LEDs on the inside.

That wing on the yellow wrx has 20 LEDs.

If I paid $297 for a $215 list price wing, I'm going to be really pissed off.

One last edit, hopefully. The unpainted wing is $215. Painting is ~$100 or so.

The Wings West/FastWRX spoiler looks identical to OEM as far as LED bar length and color. Mine and deimos are not. Mine too on the window sticker says "Impreza Sedan Spoiler $395". It was not a separate sheet of paper. I too picked mine up at the lot. It was not ordered. The dealer should be telling you if the spoiler is OEM or Aftermarket.

deimos - Does your trunk pop open or does it just kind of stay there when you unlock it? Mine just kind of stays there and will close if not completely upright. Wednesday I go in to have them change the X springs to see if this remedies the problem. If not then the aftermarket spoiler is to blame. Most likely heavier than OEM.

See my response in your other thread. I think you should stop blaming your dealer and point fingers. It's probably not their fault.

Mine just stays there when I pop the trunk release. It does also close on its own unless completely upright.
