I was able to drive at the last event. It was a blast! Make sure to mark it twice on your calendar. Too much fun to miss.

Definitely going to be making the trip down across the border for this one... We need more open venues like this in Canada!

My first foray into the dirt version of autocrossing... I think I might try it out.

It was my first time also. I had done auto cross a few times but this was a lot more fun. It's also much easier to "see" the course while driving through it. Not once did someone get off course from being lost.

Whats the verdict on studded tires? Im trying to find a decent used tire for this, and they all seem to be studded.

Studded tires are not allowed per scca rules. It's a safety hazard as a stud could fly out under the driving conditions.

I know about 3-4 people going around here. Hope to come out and have a good time!

Just making sure, if I am running the 4WD class, I don't need to be there until 12pm?

From the organizer Steve Warren -

Quote:
Any possibility of future events in rural Thurston County were definitely eliminated this morning. To hold ANY event the county deems "Racing" a special use application must now be filed (cost $9000), a pre submission review is strongly recommended (cost $ 900), an additional site reviews are very likely to be required (cost 0-$10,000). Guarantee of approval...NONE. Probably best to pursue venues in other counties so... if anyone has a lead, suggestion or possible site outside of Thurston Co. Please Pass it on and I will look into it.
