Default Looking for rally car - beer in it for you!

Hey guys!

Rallycross is awesome and now I'm looking to try a performance rally (in 2014) so I'm looking to buy a fully prepped 4wd car (Production 4wd CARS or SuperProduction RA). Preference to WRX/STI of course! I've got an ad up on Specialstage, but figured I'd post something here as I know a lot of you guys are very well connected in the rally world and may know of stuff that people are looking to sell but haven't posted yet.

What's in it for you? Beer or the alternate liquor of your choice as a finders fee!

I'm not limited to the Vancouver area, happy to have cars shipped from across Canada and will import from the USA. Preference is for a complete package with tire/lights/spares/etc...

Also, I'm not in a rush, this is a 2014 plan but want to get the car well ahead of time to learn it before any real competition. I do have cash on hand, actually I had one that was nearly bought but some logistics made it not happen.

Thanks!

Hey Onur
Is that Brandon's car? I checked it out a month ago, excellent build. Would have bought it but for his asking price I could have picked up a SP car package from the US, imported it, and possibly had enough cash left over to buy the Rocket shop Legacy. Unfortunate because it's exactly what I was looking for and he seemed pretty firm on getting his price.

Brandon's car is your best bet honestly. Cheap and motorsports don't go together. My recommendation would be either do it or don't. Doing it halfway only causes dissapointment and hurts your wallet even more.

If you buy an RS and get it race ready, you are prob looking at about 10k. Yes of course you can enter with stock suspension, stock this and stock that, but don't expect to be fast and in the long term it just costs more.

There are handful of people here that have actually staged rallied (and had soem level of success somehow) and I'm sure they would all tell you the same thing.

your other choice is the Legacy that is being sold by Rocket Rally

I've had so many customers like yourself over the years that went somewhere to shop and brought home a cheaper car and had to get everything re-done. Especially now, it doesn''t sound like you know what you are looking at, you don't know what you need to look at and what questions to ask. This is my opinion above, buy something that is proven and it's ready to go with a good history. It really sucks to spend 3-4k to show up to a rally and DNF on first stage.

Also you are forgetting that Brandon's car comes with a complete spares package as far as I know, transmissions, diffs, axles, brakes, xenon light pods, wheels, tires, basically everything that you need to go and rally + you will have spares to fix when you brake because yes you will break it.

I know both cars very well, I've driven both cars many many many times, they are both good, one is a complete rally package, and the other one is just the car and the price reflects that. If you have any other questions feel free to contact me and no I'm noy biased, nor work for neither parties involved here

No, Brandon's car didn't come with any spares for the price I was quoted ($32k), only the lights and a single set of wheels. He indicated he'd want more for any extras. I conferred with several reputable people in the rally community who knew the car specifically, as to what would be a fair value so I could make him an offer. Unfortunately, the value they placed on the car was so much lower (not due to the build, but due to the market) that I didn't think there was any chance he would take it, so decided not to present it.

It's unfortunate because I liked him, the car and of course the builders. Had they told me it was a fair or good price for the car, I'd have taken it. But ultimately I can't pay more than fair market value and the market currently seems to be very low.

I know for a fact that the spare package could be your bargaining tool for the price. Trust me he doesn't want to deal with any of it.

I'm also curious about the reputable ppl that know his car and what they know about it. It's a small community and everyone claims to know something when they don't.

Hmm... I was close to making an offer on another car but I'll email him again and see. Will follow up with you via pm.
