Thanks all!

It's our stage 2+ shortblock. We offer two common compression ratios on it and this is the higher of the two. This engine has big cams, but I made the same HP on a VF39 with stock cams in the 04 STI rally car I used to own so they're not helping with this turbo. The setup is compressor limited.

This is the second 10 second pass, the 10.96 at 123 MPH. On this one I must have magically found a spot with grip because it seems it would have held more power on the launch.

Thats awesome man, makes me very happy to know that our stock vf turbos are able to put out as well as handle a lot of power.

Wow, very nice! What cams are in this motor and do they help keep the HP band from falling off up top? Your HP holds very well for a stock turbo!

What is the CR of this motor?

Great run!!! I am still in awe at the torque monster this thing is. I want a big torque setup sometime soon.

The stock cam engine in my old rally STI held the same HP on the stock turbo. It's not the cams doing it. We didn't calculate the ratio, but in the 9s.

Have to wonder how it feels to be in second or third gear at 2500rpm and out of nowhere get 500plus amount of torq.... neck breaking?

What kind of numbers would something like this put down on 91 octane?

OK, Thanks! My EJ255 stock block VF48, E85 held 350WHP out to 6500-7K but you're making more HP up there. I know the higher 9.xx+ CR helps spool a ton. I'm seeing the help with spool on my 9.6:1 CR D25, cam'd build and a 58lb./min. SL turbo and I love it!

This thing is just crazy on the torque!! Where do you LC set for this beast? You look to be hooking up well and I'll bet your 60' will come down even more.

Without big tires it just breaks the tires loose when the torque hits all at once. Here's a video of a roll on in my old rally car and then some horsing around on a road course on Falkens. It made 400 wheel HP/ 450 wheel TQ on VF39.

I really couldn't guess accurately. I would never invest in a setup like this and then run "low" octane fuel. High compression with "low" octane is also a bad combination so results would not be great.

I didn't have much time to play with it. If I can get back to the track I'll sort LC out. It actually spun worse when I launched at a lower RPM which was something new.

Maybe it spun more launching at lower rpm's because the load in 1st gear was higher which would create even faster spool and more torque and spinning?

There's less load in a shorter gear, but yes I needed to avoid the big torque spike at lower RPM to launch it without blowing the tires off.

OK OK OK. Honestly it's a bit embarassing. This is not how we usually do things. I wasn't kidding when I said I decided to slap this together for the day. We really grabbed 2 pieces of steel pipe and a downpipe from our scrap piles and some random used couplers and clamps. I did use a new uppipe, but you can't see it and I didn't bother with an intake.

Thanks! You're one of the guys that really got the hunt going for a solid VF turbo record.

Someone will break this, but I'm the first to do a 10 and we really just slapped it on and did it so I'll still be happy when someone beats my time.

Oof, no IC. How does it run/tune compared to intercooled? Gotta love that e85.

I did run non intercooled at 33 pounds of boost on a GT35R back in 2006 for a while, but this car is intercooled. It has gold tape on it. You can see it in the shot of the haphazard charge piping.
