I received my Utec today. It's set up for the Stage 2. Got it all hooked up and took a spin. It's nice to have some more boost again. It feels smoother than my Unichip and smoother than my stock ECU. It's running really rich though. After 15 minutes of "spirited" driving, there was quite a bit of soot at the tip of the exhaust. Unfortunately my s***box laptop has a bad battery so I can't do any tuning yet. It's probably just as well because I have no idea what I'm doing. Are there any other Stage 2 people out there?

I ran the serial cable up through the ash tray. I dremeled a slot in the bottom of it and fed it through.

Very innovative ashtray trick.
Some people fed it through the glovebox, but I dunno how tight of a fit that'd be, especially after repeated opening/closing of the glovebox. |

I don't know if this is a good idea, but it seems to be working.

It's hard to see, but it's attached to the door hinge.

I ran the serial cable underneathe the passenger seat where there is a slit in the carpet and I grounded it to the factory ground under the carpet by the door. What exactly is the accessory connection for and is that battery thing for if i want to hook it up to my home PC? You just use HyperTerminal to program and log right? No cool graphs or software, correct? I might need your Stage2 map because I think they sent mine with stage 1.

I'm not sure what the accessory connection is for. Maybe some future upgrades? With the battery hooked up you can use your home PC to download maps. I haven't finished reading the instructions yet. My Stage 2 is map 1. Before I put it in my car, I hooked it up to my PC to be sure that Stage 2 was on it. The maps are supposed to be available on the TXS web site any time now. They also have dyno plots up for the Utec Stage 1 and Stage 2.
