Wink OMG - I forgot all about this forum!!!

I had forgotten this forum even existed. All this time wondering why I wasn't getting any AZSubaru email

So, here it is... Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and I hope you had a Happy New Year!!!

New brake lines should be here any day. That was my Christmas present to the car.

Ok, now that I am done with that, go here:
http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/Foru...ML/000388.html

and sign up now! If you think you will ever see a FULL day of track racing for less than $100 again, then I want whatever you are smoking. This is too good of an offer to pass up. And now that you AMEX guys have all your vacation time again, it should be no problem to take a SINGLE day off!

Besides, its more fun to caravan than to drive solo

Nice of you to come back to us. Lots of interesting things have been going on here.... Well, not that much but we do exist et all.... You need to be more active here Dan, alot more active. I know the proxies work @ amex as I test them all the time....

Nice that you got brake lines for you car. Big difference they make. I couldn't believe how much stronger the pedal felt.

I got my SVX a turbo kit from Robert. Nothing major....

Where is Willow Springs?

Talking

Ack! Much more active eh? That would imply I have something to talk about besides my miscellaneous ramblings. I guess I could talk about the weather, and how my car has developed a low end bog at part throttle conditions, or I haven't washed my car in 2 months, or that Mintex brake pads are some of the dustiest things I have ever had on a car, or that I am afraid to be too aggressive with my shifts... Or maybe you want to hear about my lack of a social life?

LOL

You get the point.

Willow Springs is about an hour north of the LA area. I'll be staying with Tim (aka Rubrducky) and he lives about 75 minutes away. If there is enough people, cost will be under $100 per person.

Anyone planning to do the 1/21/01 autocross? I am hoping to go. Last year they would corner weight your car for $5. I hope they have that this year! I want to see how much weight I have shaved off my car

Hey Imprezer, when you gonna make me a moderator over in the SVX forum?

And Dan, if you want to have a social life, just talk to us AZ people more often. We like to get together you know. Aaron, Curt (Turbo4me) and I went to Speed Motor World last night and ran 1/4 miles.

I know Aaron and I hang out a bit, so do Curt & Bud (mainly cause they both live down south). Your more than welcome to hang out with us lowly Ops guys. lol....

When you gonna hook up with Aaron and let him try out your clutch? And I can't believe you haven't washed you car in 2 months, whats wrong with you?

Thumbs up

Ahem - well - I am going to wash it this weekend...

Alex: Nothing much. Just was checking up on you to see how your holidays went. How the car is. You know - our bimonthly chat

Aaron: I have left you email stating call me at work. You should have the number. After all, you want to try my clutch more than I want you to abuse it. LOL Seriously though, just call. I am open all weekend.

I am definately going to have to get some numbers from you guys. Anyone doing anything exciting this weekend? I used to be an operations kind of guy myself, and I thought they were pretty cool personaly

Hey Dan,

I emailed you since the last reply. I will have my turbo within 2 weeks So I really need to try out your clutch, so I know what to order when mine craps out in a few weeks

I'll give you a call in the next day or two.

Eric,
I don't think you forgot, I haven't told you

I am working with Robert (Mile High Auto in Prescott Valley) on a small kit for the RS. I am getting a T3 housing with a T4 compressor wheel. I am going to run small boost amounts (4-5psi) until I can afford a real engine management solution (i.e. aftermarket ECU). I am getting the turbo I described above, so I don't have to buy a new turbo when I up the boost ante later this year.

I have bought the Autometer Phantom EGT, Boost, and fuel pressure guages and competition probe for the EGT. Those all came in today. I am putting those in the Subaru pod on top of the dash. I also have a 2.5" hi-flow cat on its way but it hasn't got here yet.

We are going to see what we need to do for fuel delivery. I think we will end up with a Bell RRFPR (i.e. 20005. 5lbs of fuel for every lb of boost) It seems many people have had good luck with this piece.

I am fully expecting my clutch to let go at even these modest boost pressures so that will be my next upgrade.

The car gets dropped off with Robert on Monday, so I am getting really excited. Hopefully it will be done before the 1/21 auto-x because I would love to run.

Kastle/Dan,

It'd be nice to see you guys a little more often too.

Curt and I hang out because we've known each other for almost 10 years now (I'm the Godfather of his kid). We worked together for a couple of years. He left the company for about 6-or-7 years then came back just recently. Of course, now they're shipping him off to Oregon (for 6-months) then Boston Mass. permently (as perment as any job is these days). That's why I've been bugging you guys to go to the drag strip and the autocross.

Aaron,

A new set of tires would help you at the autocross much more then that turbo will. Oh, and going back to stock (with good tires, of course) would really help your placement at the end of the season. Oh well, who really cares about winning.

Of course, you'll rock at the drag strip.

I am well aware of the fact new tires would be a good mod

I think the turbo will hurt my performance at the auto-x circuit until I get used to it. I am not expecting to win any trophies or anything I just want to have some fun in the scooby. I will be in the SM class with the big boys, so I expect regular spankings. Hopefully some auto-x practice will make me a better driver.

Being a better driver will definately make a bigger difference then getting better tires.

It IS an absolute blast. I look forward to seeing you there. After all, I'm getting tired of being beat by Curt. It's time for someone else to beat me.

We need to swamp the place in Subarus.
